FTC refers complaint against Snap’s AI chatbot My AI to the Department of Justice. The Federal Trade Commission stated on January sixteenth that their investigation raised concerns about potential legal violations by Snap, the company behind the AI chatbot. This referral, described as being in the public interest, is a rare move for such complaints.

Apple pauses AI news summaries after publisher backlash. Following pushback from news publishers about factual inaccuracies in its AI-generated news summaries, Apple has temporarily halted the feature. The tech giant plans to reintroduce the service only after implementing the necessary improvements.
