Pepe G Radio is back bebé!!! For this time I wanted this mix to serve as a lil' love letter to one of my favorite genres in electronic music... Tech House!!!

Now, what the hell is tech house? I'm no expert by any means, but for starters I would say that there's a specific groove that happens mostly on the hi hats and basslines that's very typical of tech house records made in the 90's and the beginning of the 2000s, that's when they started using the term "tech house" to describe a particular type of music. This music could be viewed as an intersection of two different sensibilities: the structure, drive, and "mechanic force" if you will, tipically associated with techno, and the feel and soul of a house track in terms of how it sounds.

Tech house tracks are usually bouncy, rolling and stripped down. For me, tech house feels very honest with what it proposes, and I feel it's a genre that doesn't take itself too seriously, something that resonates with me a lot.

There's also a whole bunch of music that could be described as "techy" or "teky", as it is informed by this tech house tradition, I'm usually looking for this vibe a lot when I'm digging for records, I don't know why but it's something I've been lowkey obsessed with this year lol. Any track that makes you wanna go "vibessss".

In the mix you can hear some tracks of producers that helped define and shape that sound, and I mixed them with some other tracks of producers that are taking this sound to new corners. I also put in the mix some tracks that are not properly tekhaus but kinda fit in that teky-vibe-sort-of-music in my opinion.
