The 6th installment in the Fresh Selects Remix Series, and the second entry to come from Sons Of The James – the 2020 duo project by singer Rob Milton & musician/producer DJ Harrison. 

Here, the boisterously bass-heavy album cut “I Want More” gets a high-energy revamp from prodigious jazz pianist/producer, Telemakus — led with a flurry of interweaving piano keys, Rhodes & synth melodies, all fueled and emboldened by the explosively kinetic drumming of David James.

This extended version of our latest Fresh Selects Remix Series drop, highlighting Telemakus's take on SOTJ's "I Want More" – now includes the bonus "Slowed-Soul Mix" heard here, plus the instrumentals for all three versions of the song.

When Tele initially remixed the song, he sped everything up so that he could get into his full high-energy Fusion bag, as he loves to do (and we love him for it!).  So, as a B-side bonus, we thought we'd include this alternate edit of his flip that kept the vocals at their original speed and calmed everything else in the track down along with it – traversing genres a bit and sliding back into more of a cool Soul groove.

A two-for-one combo meal of a first single from Telemakus' upcoming sophomore LP, due out later this year on Fresh Selects.

Joining the young instrumental hip-hop producer turned jazz piano prodigy on “Fluttering” is guest bassist, CARRTOONS – still fresh off the heels of headlining his own NPR Tiny Desk performance. 

The song continues the cutting-edge genre pushing that Telemakus has become known for, with a 2-for-1 combo that starts with a kinetic swirl of modern Jazz-Funk fusion, that then disintegrates and resurrects into a hypnotic Herbie Hancock-inspired headnodder – both showcasing virtuosic solos from Tele on a myriad of different synths and pianos.

Following on the success of the album’s first two singles, “Fluttering” and “Future Overture” – "The Love Bomb" is an uptempo, hard-hitting fusion of Jazz, Funk, Nu-Disco and Lo-Fi beats that unveils yet another layer of the prolific statement that is ‘Eight Ring Revival’.

With the final project resulting in a full double LP that overflows with a plethora of exciting new ideas and collaborations for the young talent, the story of Tele’s road to recovery has only just begun to be told.
