Jared Kelly is a dancer at “Ballet X”: Philadelphia’s contemporary ballet dance organization.  Before joining BalletX in June of 2022, he was a company dancer with Ballet Tucson under the direction of Mary Beth Cabana and Minnesota Dance Theatre under the direction of Lise Houlton.

Jared joins the show to talk about Ballet’s new rollout for the 2024-2025 season, including their move to the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, taking place from November 13th to 17th on Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts.

When Gloria Adebayo describes herself, she rarely uses a single title. She is at once a writer, actor, broadcaster, consultant, and educator. But what unites these roles is a simple impulse: to create and to contribute.

Her path began with a love of words. She wrote Six Straight Curves in 2020, an e-book born from observation of African society, followed by Parenting in Africa in 2022. She published The Good Karma on Medium in 2024 and continues to write essays and reflections on her wellness blog, Tata Blog. For Gloria, writing is not just communication; it is a way of making sense of the world and offering clarity to others.

Acting gave her another voice. She played characters in Nigerian dramas, including one defined by materialistic ambition, and brought them to life with nuance and empathy. She loves dance too, especially salsa and ballet, which she sees as embodiments of joy and sensuality.

Broadcasting opened new doors. At the Nigerian Television Authority she edited news stories, while in radio she found her true element. From “Early Morning Tea with Gloria” to “Stick to the Lyrics,” she spoke directly into the lives of listeners across Nigeria.

Her work in public relations and branding reveals her eye for beauty and detail. She has hosted events, advised clients, and shaped images with an understanding of both aesthetics and strategy.

In education, she has shared her skills as a teacher and mentor. At Lee Chapel Nursery and Primary School in the UK, she volunteered as a teaching assistant, embodying her conviction that teaching and learning are two sides of the same coin.

In 2025 she joined the Arts and Culture Network and, in an interview with founder Mark Walmsley, imagined a fantasy cultural year: drinking coffee at the University of East London, traveling to New York to study arts and culture, listening to Jhene Aiko’s music for a year, attending exhibitions in Seville and Switzerland, and inviting her closest friends to a hero’s lunch in Miami.

That imaginative exercise was more than fantasy. It revealed Gloria’s deeper ambition: to lead a global research tour, exploring how societies use arts and culture to solve problems. The project—complete with a book, a documentary, and a TED Talk—captures her lifelong mission to use creativity as a form of healing and human connection.

Gloria’s life is full of movement: across countries, careers, and media. Yet it is held together by her belief in art as therapy and culture as a bridge. Whether writing, acting, presenting, or teaching, she remains guided by the same principle: to make the world more humane, more expressive, and more whole.
