@thechikaraproject is back with CKRA046, this time @methodsound joins the imprint out of Calgary and the Sub Chakra Crew with his debut solo project, the "Velvet Lie EP". 
Developed with a signature style whilst refusing to conform to any trends this EP stands out among the masses and stays true to the art form. 
We picked up the opening track to the EP, "Shapes Place" for a Premiere. "Shapes Place" is styled with deep hypnotic grooves and pulsing sub bass ready to take its listener on a journey. Influenced by atmospheric dub sounds and spatial textures this track will give any space some serious heads down movement.

We picked up "With You" for premiere, a beautiful garage bit featuring the newly emerging alias from Jevon Ives, NINA. This collab is an absolutely perfect match of sonic components. Sitting at 135 this tune floats the most gorgeous and lush melodies, drums smooth enough to float you off your feet, and perfectly situated vox. "With You" is ready to tug on your heartstrings and pull you into a state of ecstasy leaving you grinning from ear to ear in the dance.

Mystic State - Embrace Change EP [CKRA047]

Last year we embarked on a journey to the other side of the world to play some shows across Aotearoa / New Zealand. On a quiet evening in Otautahi / Christchurch, we headed to the beach with Tristan Truth, when Mike noticed a Fin Whale stuck on the sandbank, only a few hundred feet from the shore. We immediately hopped out of the vehicle and ran toward it. Coast Guard were called, and before long hundreds of onlookers had gathered to observe and pray for the majestic creature. We waited for hours, well into the night, but slowly realized that the emergency services were powerless to save the whale. 

The whale passed in the early hours of the following morning, and so we spent the next day writing a tribute to the animal and the impact the experience had on us all. 

This is “Kujira” - an ode to the whale, backed with “Parity”, another piece we wrote whilst in New Zealand. 

The hand drawn artwork, drawn entirely in dot-work by Adelaide Loake and printed at on Hahnemühle Bamboo 290gsm, is available from our store, and includes a free copy of the release. Limited to 30 copies only.
