On the heels of The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium and ahead of the Daytona 500, NASCAR Regional Managing Director Joey Dennewitz joins Davey Segal (6:50) to discuss his role, how the Cup Series' return to Bowman Gray went and his career before joining the sanctioning body as a driver growing up in Ohio and then transitioning into the business side of the sport.

He dives into how his relationship with Spire's Jeff Dickerson and T.J. Puchyr grew, his connection with Landon Cassill, learning how to do everything and anything in motorsports and how that's made him better in his current role, plus how beloved his dog Otis really is.

Davey also looks ahead to the season-opening Daytona 500, discusses the 2025 NASCAR Hall of Fame class and Papa Segal pays homage to Dr. Dean Sicking, a motorsports safety pioneer.

The song tells the story of Montgomery Clift, a beautiful Hollywood heartthrob who suffered life changing facial injuries in a car crash. His career was never the same and he spiralled into addiction.

The play asks what is beauty? Why does society hold physical beauty in such high esteem?

That last Sublime Saturday was the right kind of unexpected. First-time guest Worth Planer wowed the crowd, a lot of whom happened to be his posse. He had us up and dancing with his rare, soulful sound. Best way for us to describe his sound is that he's a youthful man with an ancient Deep House soul. His style almost defies description. His selection and care in transition are uncommon and genuine expression. Thomas Fitzgerald started it all dark to set Worth up for the deep spike we knew he would give take advantage of for the win.

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.
