Update 5/20... this morning I cheated and slowed down the song to record the solo, then sped it back up. Wasn't happy with the sound of my fingers tripping over each other. At least it sounds basically correct now. I'm going to keep working on it till I can get it, but for the purpose of recording, I've used tricks.

Update 5/19... Going to leave this here for now. I might still play with smoothing up the solo a little more and have a lot of EQ and finishing work left to do. Talked with a friend about possibly adding the vocals. You know, you'd think as long as I've been playing, it wouldn't take several days to learn one guitar solo. I was able to slow the Coasters track way down without affecting the pitch to learn it; probably played it back over 100x. I still am struggling playing it at tempo. I've known people whom I feel could have picked it out rather quickly. Music has never been a gift for me. It's always seemed hard earned. I still love it!

Update 5/18 later... Still not accurate, but getting there. Think I've got the notes ironed out for the first part of the solo

Originally posted 5/15... Got the bones together. Still learning... This is the first step. Got the basic snare and kick pattern, the bass and guitar parts. I intend to figure out the sax part and flesh the whole thing out in some original way. Have to hit breaks on the project for now... Wanted to share anyway.
