The latest entry to the Enemy catalog comes courtesy of Lonefront, a Minneapolis based producer. He performs live regularly at The Great Beyond and Intellephunk events as well as an appearance DVS1's Wall of Sound event in Los Angeles.

Spanning 4 tracks, the vibe on Pronoia is unapologetically puristic. The EP leans heavily towards hypnotic dream-state techno with a softer approach. Messier Object stands as the EP's banger, emphasizing polymeter and and all out 909 assault on the senses. While the other tracks are less muscular, they double down on a submersive/aquatic tip that is equally captivating.

Pronoia: a state of mind that is the opposite of paranoia. Whereas a person suffering from paranoia feels that persons or entities are conspiring against them, a person experiencing pronoia believes that the world around them conspires to do them good.

Techno is a layered phenomenon. On the surface level is the talk, fleeting and temporary. Beneath it lies an intricate web woven by all manner of creatives and intellectuals. At the center of it all is the sound itself, and it is in this realm of sonic abstraction that you find Max Gardner.

The San Francisco DJ and producer did not initially pursue electronic music with ambitions to promote himself as a brand. Doors opened nonetheless, and they never stopped.

 He is now one of the artists most closely associated with Bay Area techno, releasing on labels like Occultists, Resource Records and Northern Parallels. He has also launched an imprint called Peer with the mission of platforming the music of promising up-and-comers on equal footing to that of established figureheads.

His often psychedelic, sometimes suspenseful, always hypnotic range of the techno spectrum has afforded him audiences in cities across the globe. He’s performed at clubs like MUTE in Medellin, Leland City Club and The Works in Detroit, Beta Nightclub in Denver, and Desterro in Lisbon. He is also a return guest at gatherings like DEPTH in Seattle and The Great Beyond outside Minneapolis.

 His first European tour in 2023 saw him visit RSO.BERLIN and Moog in Barcelona in addition to Club John Doe in Amsterdam and a gathering by phase.ctv in Madrid. 

Max Gardner lives for the ephemeral moments in which time stands still, where words fail, as pure and honest audio shakes every reveler to their core. To see him behind the decks is to understand that he belongs here. He knows this world intimately. His place in it is permanent.

Live at The Great Beyond 2023 (Communion Stage)

This set is a culmination of my body of work up to this point with the first half being all originals.  After that I mix in work from others.

A word of warning, at first, you may find this set uncomfortable. It sounds familiar and you sit in a  space that feels nice and then I change it up. I say “You were good with this, but let me now make you feel something entirely different. It may be challenging for you, but I promise you can handle it”

I also threw in a small live PA performance in the set, which has now become a tradition of mine at The Great Beyond. Huge thank you to Intellephunk for allowing me the opportunity to perform for you all on the Communion Stage. It was superb and I am forever grateful to have a temple to spread my message from.
