Crucial Todd Lands His Debut With The Payback Project

Another month rolls by and it feels like we never left! So I think we are about into round 3, and so steps up, New Boy in Town Crucial Todd. Who was introduced on our Bangers Re-Thrased series a couple of months ago with his blinding remix of Good to you.

Although no stranger to the industry the Crucial Todd Alias stands up for itself and this debut doesn’t disappoint. Trashy Jackin beats, introduce a glitched funk riff, Before a thumper of a bassline that gets you on the hook!. “It’s a Stompa” finished with some cool vocal licks and the Main Vocal theme of the titled song! Its rather bloody good and has been smashin our floors for a while.
So we thought we’d raid our piggy banks and splash out on a couple remixes to elevate the introduction.

WBBL Remix:
No stranger to a bit of Fun. WBBL drops in for a more dirty funked up bass Jam.. Dunno where to place it but who cares! Its Rad! Extracted all the goodness from the original and well, made a banger!

Well they do say the early bird catches the worm. And with this early shot, VIP Promo we hope this is very much the case! So flock together and get yer beaks around this fat juicy “SLUG OF A CHOOOOON”!

So Bourbon shots was fashioned recently when SuperStyle Deluxe re acquainted with Mantis (from Bristols hip hop outfit The Aspects). However the pair are no strangers on collaboration from various shows at Snow Bombing to kick starting the whole Payback journey way back in 2004. Bourbon shorts combines the quirky essence and humour of Mantis’s nostalgic rhymes mixed with the SuperStyle sound we all know and love. So I guess a bit of UKG meets Bass House Breaks or somethin!

On remixes duty this time we have SLYNK and John Gurd. Each steps up to the plate with us expecting a home run, and thats exactly what we got. SLYNK's remix sits in the general vibe of the original but souped up to the next level, the bass is pumped, leveled up bassline sleaze. Rounding out the record John Gurd veers off in his own unique direction, with a small hours inspired, moody, synthy breakbeat reworking. Completing the package of Bourbon powered club material set to soundtrack this winter.
