They're Coming

The Sound of Silence Improv  - Inspired by an article that I recently came across discussing the background of this song by Simon & Garfunkel.  According to the article, Art's college roommate's vision failed suddenly after going through surgery for misdiagnosed glaucoma.  The article described how Art and his roommate were in a very busy area and Art decided to disappear - not really disappear, he just made himself unavailable leaving his friend to cope with his new surroundings by himself.  His unsuspecting friend just figured they lost each other in the crowd but Art was always right there - ready to help his friend if he ever needed it.

Having been through 4 eye surgeries myself, the article really resonated with me. It was that article that inspired me to try to capture what it must feel like to be blind and having to all of a sudden deal with a very busy environment (like Grand Central Station) all on my own with no help.  Fear, spaciousness, echoing foot steps, voices, doors slamming, thunderous train vibrations above, people scurrying about as I apologize for bumping in to many of them.  Finally coming to the realization that my friend was with me all the time :-).  Talk about learning under fire!  I hope you enjoy this (my) version of the song.

DJ/Producer/Remixer, Rafael Barreto é reconhecido mundialmente na cena da música eletrônica. Com grandes influências do seu pai, o interesse pela música começou aos 5 anos, ouvindo rock e admirando os integrantes das bandas no palco.

Natural de Recife, o contato do artista com o eletrônico começou na sua cidade natal frequentando festas matinês com amigos da escola. Com olhar curioso em saber o que um DJ sentia no palco, aos 18 anos, Rafael se mudou para São Paulo para se conectar com a vida noturna que a cidade proporcionaria. 

O DJ transita entre os estilos House e Tribal House. Um dos feats que mais se orgulha é com o  Leo Mendez, na faixa “Higher Than Higher”, que ficou marcado na pele, com uma tatuagem no braço, com o nome do single em onda sonora na voz do Leo.

Tendo um público brasileiro muito fiel, ele realiza uma média de duas a três tours no exterior. Seu maior sonho é sempre estar presente nas paradas e chegar aos palcos de grandes festivais pelo mundo. Literalmente escrito no seu peito, Rafael Barreto leva consigo o lema de nunca desistir dos seus sonhos.

DJ/Peoduxer/Remixer, Rafael Barreto is recognized worldwide in the electronic music scene. With great influences from his father, his interest in music started when he was 5 years old, listening to Rock Music and admiring the members of the bands on the stage. 

Born in Recife, his connection with Electronic Music began in his hometown by attending matinees parties with friends from the school. With a curious thought about what a DJ feel on the stage, at 18 years old, Rafael moved to São Paulo, the biggest city of Brazil, to feel the connection with the nightlife that the city would provide. 

The DJ moves between House and Tribal House styles. One of the most proud featuring was with Leo Mendez, on the track "Higher than Higher", which was literally stamped on his skin, with a tattoo on his arm, with the name of the Single on the wave sound of Leo's voice. Besides being his first Single, it was also his first Videoclipe.

Having a very loyal Brazilian audience, he usually takes two or three tours abroad. His biggest dreams is to be always present on the charts and reach the stages of the major festivals around the World. Literally on his chest, Rafael Barreto takes the sentence  "Never give up on your dreams" as a motto of his career. It's very important to have something to fight for and never give up.

I am a pianist and composer capable of composing in any genre and can deliver scores of custom music for demo or production purposes.  I am an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) writer member with original compositions that have been showcased on premium television, cable and media networks.  My solo piano performances include original compositions and classical, romantic and impressionistic works as well
 
My music studio includes state of the art, cutting edge audio technology that enables the production of high-quality, musical content for film scores, commercials, games and sound design.  I have expert level knowledge of DAW and music notation software, and am very familiar with Native Instruments, Arturia, and PreSonus brands of hardware and software and their APIs.

I am a application developer specializing in  C++, Assembler, DirectX and SQL.  I am also a Extra Class licensed ham radio operator.

Jehanne combines her love of European and popular music to craft and cover songs that speak to the heart. Influences span hard rock, acoustic ballads, mellow soul vibes, classical, dance and rap. 

Based in Leeds in the UK, Jehanne has also lived in central France, and Paris. A perfect morning would be with croissants, fromage and ‘un petit café’ watching the world go by.

Jehanne has been writing and recording demo songs with friends on and off for a number of years. A chance meeting with The Argent Grub (David Carpenter) has resulted in a collaboration that has led to some new music being recorded and some old demos being reworked into tracks for release.
