EXTREMELY SPOILERY! We’ve arrived upon the eve of Halloween and the penultimate episode of HALLOWEEN HUMPFEST. We previewed every day except today because today was left to Angela to decide which horror movie, made in 2024, was going to be discussed. There were many to choose from but we went to the movies and picked a body horror flick that is getting a lot of buzz right now. If your ear is to the ground then you already know we’re talking about Coralie Fargeat’s newest film “THE SUBSTANCE” and it stars a resurrected Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley & Dennis Quaid. Fargeat’s second feature film is visceral, alluring, relentless, disgusting and overstimulating. Obvious satirical commentary on body image, the scumbaggery of entertainment and fear of aging but where does this hyper tale end up? Would you take THE SUBSTANCE? I would. I’m too curious to not do something like that. Having a super hunky, gay other of myself walking around? He’d probably have a giant TikTok following within a week. He would serve mega cunt until I looked like that dude who drank the wrong goblet at the end of that Indiana Jones movie. Demi is back and Mr. Skin’s servers are gonna crash after this flick hits their radar. You should definitely bring any parents and in-laws with you to see this one. Happy Halloween!

THE SUBSTANCE HA

De twaalfde aflevering van het vierde seizoen van Cinepraatjes, de podcast van Cinemaatjes. Dit keer is Bram Koedam van ‘Moviegelul met Vrienden’ aangeschoven. William begint met treurig nieuws over zijn favoriete film ‘The Warriors’, want acteur David Harris die Cochise speelde is overleden. Bram Koedam heeft voor ons nog een aantal cadeau’s meegenomen uit Almere Haven. William weet te melden dat er een nieuwe serie komt van Stephen King’s ‘Carrie’ die wordt geregisseerd door Mike Flanagan en ook dat ‘Alien: Romulus’ wordt gereleased op VHS. Uiteraard weer een sonnet van Marino van Liempt, maar dat ging een beetje mis. Bram heeft een hoop dingen gezien, maar wil het zeker even hebben over de serie ‘The Bear’. JP heeft inmiddels ook ‘The Substance’ gezien en wil het ook nog kort hebben over ‘Terrifier 3’. William keek naar ‘Trap’ van M. Night Shyamalan. Bram heeft het ook nog even over ‘Alien 3’ en JP keek een vergeten 90’s film, die meer waardering verdiend, genaamd ‘Go’. We trokken ‘Ober’ van Alex van Warmerdam uit de kast . In de Special gaan we een tweede deel verzinnen voor een film die dat niet nodig heeft. We laten het lot beslissen welke van de lijst van 6 films, die we hebben gekozen, we gaan doen. Ook beantwoorden we weer vragen van luisteraars over o.a. ons favoriete medium, films die we kijken wanneer we het even niet meer zien zitten, welke 80’s films ze wel en welke ze niet mogen laten opleven, de slechtste en beste delen 3 van een franchise en welke film volgens ons een inquel verdient. Al met al een hele hoop chaos, dus veel luisterplezier!
