Playwright and educator Rachel Rubin Ladutke discusses her latest play, THE WAY HOME, which is the last in a trilogy. It will be performed on Sunday, May 28th at 6:30 p.m. (EST) on Zoom.

Within the trilogy of plays - THE WICKHAM WAY; THE WAY FORWARD; and THE WAY HOME; many of the characters just so happen to be "nontraditional" in terms of sexuality and/or gender identity, but the conflicts do not arise from that fact. Rather, the conflict arises from their efforts to understand and relate to one another. In many ways, then, the struggles within this large "family by choice" spanning four generations reflect the struggles faced by those in the larger society. Rachel has come to realize that a central purpose of these plays is to highlight our universal need for acceptance, connection, and love.

"Let's take the long way home, and get a little more fun out of this adventure."

One of my favourite tracks in the entire Love Live series. One that makes for the perfect bittersweet, yet hopeful ending song for Love Live Sunshine, even if it wasn't used as such. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet coming out convinced me to revisit this track and add a little extra surprise because the lyrics fit that game's ending so well. Enjoy!

It is about Using the gateway of a magical pond to time travel back to your family's  history.
