Perve Endings are a Meanjin/Brisbane-based four piece rock outfit with a penchant for catchy hooks, rotating lyrics and blissful harmonies. They serve up enlightened alternative rock with a dash of punk and we've caught them performing live at The Zoo on the 9th of December 2022 for The Zoo's 30th birthday celebration.

Emily Barker:

Live at The Woolly Mammoth, Fortitude Valley, 17 February 2023

Emily Barker is a singer-songwriter with roots in Bridgetown, West Australia. She has eight albums under her belt, four with multi-instrumental trio Red Clay Halo and four solo. Her track 'Nostalgia' was picked up as the theme music for Kenneth Branagh's BBC drama 'Wallander' and another and as a result Emily has also won several BAFTA awards, amongst others. We recorded her performing live at The Woolly Mammoth on the 17th of February, 2023.

Live at Lazy Days Festival, The Zoo, Fortitude Valley, 3 June 2023

Perry Street Park are a Meanjin-Brisbane based pop-rock band that crystallised around sessions with Benny Nelson around 2018. After a long time working on material during the COVID-19, Nelson announced the formation of Perry Street Park at a live show supporting Paul Kelly in 2021, the full lineup consisting of Benny Nelson, Sebastian 'Baz' Jennings-Hingston, Ryan Brook and Harry Shakespeare. As Perry Street Park they've released five singles and one EP, three of those singles released in 2023 and that could only mean this is their best year yet. This episode features Perry Street Park performing live at Lazy Days festival at the Zoo in Fortitude Valley.

Live Delay - Ep 435 - Perry Street Park

So this is the song we recorded at Maida Vale in London. The Beatles, Nirvana and now Jameson... Well more Super A but then everyone in Jameson played on it. It was crazy, only Rich and Steve had listened to the track as they had wrote it, and then the studio guys wanted to recorded it live. No chance. Steve and Stu tried to do it with drums and bass only but it was impossible so in the end Rich played it through on acoustic guitar and it was built on from there. A lovely song again with Leyla on vocals, we wanted a Simon and Garfunkel kind of vibe not sure we got that, some strings though! Proper band now...

From the heart-pounding swagger of nationally-beloved live favourites to the sharp thrill of innovative new artists, our team scoured venues great and small across Meanjin/Brisbane to ensure you never missed out on the finest musical treasures the city had to offer. For eleven years, Live Delay brought the thrilling sound of our live music scene to the community and archived these live recordings and broadcasts through our Soundcloud page. In 2024, for a variety of creative and pragmatic reasons, Live Delay switched from a pre-recorded podcast-style program to a live broadcast from 4ZZZ Studio 2 each Friday afternoon featuring a live gig guide and various other up-to-the-minute information about live music in Meanjin/Brisbane.

On air from January 2013 to November 2024, Live Delay was broadcast on 4ZZZ, Zed Digital, and the Community Radio Network. The program is currently on indefinite hiatus.
