We caught up with Towson Athletics PxP voice Spiro Morekas on GCR Thursday to continue our annual tradition of deciding what nominees from the yearly Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nomination list should go into the Hall. AND we're back ladies and gentlemen; this time with an absolute heater of an anthem from a Detroit band and record very near and dear to my heart.  I still remember the first time I played Elephant in my dad's bright blue jelly bean of a Ford Escort.   I'm using this one to help manifest that Jack White will help me open my Movement headlining set one day.   Haha, here's to hoping.

Black Flamingo DJ is one of the most internationally recognized and rising Spanish DJs in today’s electronic music scene. With a unique ability to blend house, tribal, and progressive sounds, his sets are known for creating vibrant and immersive atmospheres where elegant melodies and powerful vocals seamlessly merge—building an electrifying connection with the crowd from the very first beat.

Throughout his career, he has performed in over 20 countries and more than 42 cities across five continents, including iconic destinations like Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Atlanta, Costa Rica, Seoul, Guangzhou, Moscow, Dublin, Lisbon, Rome, Madrid, Zurich, Paris, Porto, Verona, Marseille, Munich, Phoenix, Bucharest, Antwerp, Nice, Benidorm, Montpellier, Almería, Valencia, Torremolinos, Toulouse, and Luxembourg. In 1977, Tarock Music, was started as a music publishing company, in Philadelphia, PA, by Rick Shaffer, founding member of The Reds®.  In 1982 the company moved to New York City to combine artist management and music licensing by partnering with Basic Management, adding an independent record label in 1992, with the release of The Reds® album, Cry Tomorrow.   In 2006, to accommodate an in-house recording studio, the company relocated to Pennsylvania midway between New York City and Philadelphia, for easy access to both cities.

Whether it was supporting Les Battersby from Coronation Street in a Lionel Richie covers band, being sandwiched between the bingo and Sticky Vicky as one of The Blues Brothers or even playing his acoustic upside down in the middle of nowhere before heading off to work all night in a car factory...Ricky’s rite of passage continues to be a colourful one!

Ricky began his musical journey when he was still at school as a bass player playing in bands in the North East and London before moving on to Spain and slowly gravitating from the shadows to the centre stage.

Years spent travelling around the North playing at endless different venues and events honed his craft and reputation as a solid performer and in March 2020 he released his debut album ‘The Right Light’ to critical acclaim, having three tracks from it played on BBC Introducing, including one track of the week for ‘Coming Up’.

Originaly Deep House producer with music-producing roots in 90s. Producer, sound engineer, and DJ actually blending Tech-house, Deep-techno, Progressive House, and minimal with vocal chops and spoken word elements. Experiments across organic strings to synthetic textures, constantly evolving and refining. Shaped by Prague’s club sounds & rhythms, developing and discovering new techniques with each new track...
