Except, it's easier said than done, and now, the protagonist (a self-certified pharmacist) finds himself battling a dependence on his meds to numb the pain of losing the love of his life by his own narcissistic tendencies. It is in the midst of the chaos that it becomes clear that he, in fact, abuses the feeling of love for its euphoric effect or... “high”. As did she.
