Provocations and rent-a-crowds as imperialists try Maidan 2.0 in Georgia

The National Endowment for Democracy, a supposedly ‘non-governmental organisation’, is in reality an overt front for the CIA. It is sign of US imperialist decline that the NED has felt the need to hide details of activities which it formerly published openly. The understanding that ‘spreading democracy’ is imperialist doublespeak for ‘overthrowing governments with sovereign ambitions’ has simply become too widespread for the CIA’s ‘overt operations’ front to continue in its old way.

Low pay has become such an issue in the care sector that up to 30 percent of vacancies are unfilled. The issue of low pay is at the heart of decaying public health and social care provision in Britain. Privatisation has turned our vital public services into cash cows for profiteers, while delivering less and less to those in need. While the cream of the budget is siphoned off to shareholders and CEOs, the care workers themselves are expected to survive on impossibly low salaries while running in circles trying to fill the yawning gaps left by chronic understaffing. The net result is a demoralised and stressed-out workforce fronting up for a thoroughly inadequate and highly rationed service, which no longer delivers preventive or timely interventions, but doles out what for too many feels like ‘too little, too late’
