Best known for albums like Radio Amor, Ravedeath 1972, Harmony in Ultraviolet, and his most recent project, No Highs, @TimHecker has always been interested in going beyond the superficialities of ambient — preferring to craft music that challenges, confuses, enthralls, and excites. 

His creative process reflects this, often including bleeding channels, feedbacking pieces, pitch shifting, noise, and distortion. His live shows, meanwhile, can be flooded with darkness or cloaked in fog. 

In this conversation, Tim and I discuss his musical philosophy and love of creative and artistic dissonance, and the inherent challenges in making music that isn’t always easy.

LA MÚSICA DE LAS NUBES es un espacio musical de difusión exclusivamente cultural, sin ánimo de lucro. Como las nubes, las formas de la música son infinitas y cambiantes, y no conocen fronteras ni épocas. Del folk a la americana, del pop a la electrónica, a la música electrónica y al blues, e incluso con incursiones en la música sinfónica o coral, pero siempre buscando la calidez y la inmediatez de las voces y los instrumentos, sin estridencias, buscando la tranquilidad que produce tumbarse sobre la hierba y contemplar las nubes en un día de primavera. ¡Compremos discos!

Me gusta compartir la música que descubro y que los algoritmos  suelen pasar por alto. El universo musical está repleto de diamantes, pero hay que tener paciencia para descubrirlos.  Difundir y dignificar esa música es el objeto de este podcast que comenzó en 2019.
        En cuanto a mí, nací en Gandia a finales de los 50 del pasado siglo.   Soy autor  de "Paseos con Montaigne" (Universo de Letras, 2023), un libro a mitad camino entre las memorias y el ensayo, y de dos libros de relatos  ("El surco es el alma del vinilo" -Ediciones Oblicuas, 2015, y "De la duración del amor" -Premio Caja España de Libro de Cuentos 2008).
