Finally, Volume 7 for my Titanic Records tribute mixes. Continues on perfectly from Vol 6. This is a very interesting era for Hardstyle and Titanic. Tracks like ‘Digital Playground’ with Isaac were heavy hitters. The kick drums and bass line were perfect at the time. Some much needed bass. 
Stephanie’s ‘Karma Is Bitch’ is probably my favourite off here, and also ‘Blacklist’ which has that classic sample ‘Excuse me... my name is on the list... what list... the dj’s list... miss thing... there is no guest list tonight’. Also the last track, with Headhunterz is mega and perfect for finishing! 

I have to say, mixing this compared to today's hardstyle and the amount of vocal clashes that happen in today's music is crazy different. Not once did I have to worry about vocal clashes, cos they stop most vocals just before the last cue point. I do love them for that. This mix took me two takes, compared to some new hardstyle mixes I'm on attempt 300 lol.

In my hometown, we hosted many events at various locations, each party was bigger than the one before. Eventually, we went our separate ways, bringing an end to a hectic but fun era.

After those events, I launched my own weekly live radio show and became the co-owner of an online hardstyle station. I created hardstyle yearmixes in 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2011, which were broadcast at the end of each year. 

In 2009, I produced a 120-minute yearmix featuring 110 of the best tracks from that year. Part 2 of the 2009 Yearmix is an energetic blend of 55 tracks in just 60 minutes. Pump up the volume, it's time to go hard!

One hundred 💯 minutes of Early Italian Hardstyle tracks, released between 2000 and 2008. 

It was Early Hardstyle’s exclusive Reverse Bass that made Hardstyle a raw, dark and uncomplicated new harder style.
Italian producers completed that with their authentic and distinguishing signature, which dominated the Hardstyle scene for quite some time. 
I think Early Italian Hardstyle is like how it should be sounding and how Hardstyle was once meant to be. Loved it from day one, love it maybe even more today.

Hi, I am (rookie!) DJ Franquillizer!

I decided to start deejaying late last year (November 2024), after being a daily base house music listener since the early 90’s and a spectator at various raves since 2001. 
To be playing my own favourite tracks with my own gear had always been an ambition but the right time just didn’t came. Until it came November last year and I bought a decent DJ-controller with proper audio gear. 
Without having any deejay experience nor knowledge of how a DJ controller worked or should be operated.  I’d always thought; four-quarter time music mixing can’t be that hard! I just knew I could do it and that I could teach myself some basic deejaying skills. 
After a few months of practicing it's all going pretty well if you ask me 😎

But please forgive me when my self taught mixing skills sound like shit! Don't expect my live recordings to be flawless. There's a lot of progress to be made and my skills are improving step by step. One step at a time! 
Just the fact that I now have the opportunity and equipment to mix, record, and share the music I love so much on this platform with friends and others who’re interested in hearing what DJ Franquillizer is all about, is beyond great! 🙏🏻


              • These are my Musical Memoirs •


The first (big) event I ever attended was Mystery Land  Festival back in 2001. 
A year later, an anniversary edition of Qlubtempo (1st of June 2002, Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam) got me hooked on Hardstyle. It sounded like nothing else I had ever heard before and the Qlubtempo Hardstyle vibe was unparalleled. It was just perfect.

After Qlubtempo, hardstyle became a big part of my life. It shaped me as a person throughout the years. It contributed to my life in many ways; met my girlfriend at a party 20 years ago, had lots of social interaction at parties which brought me friends that I'm still lucky to have today, and I made memories that last forever.
I am so grateful that I have experienced it all and wouldn't have missed it for anything in the world.

My obsession with Hardstyle is more like an addiction really. I can very proudly say that I’m a Hardstyle junkie for life. What that means like is something I can only explain through the music. The universal language!
Every once in a while I'll present you an Early Hardstyle Classics liveset. Composed the Franquillizer way! 😎
