Short set from Sublime Saturdays Episode VI: The Three of Us. Theirs was a spiritual reset that hit just right as the sun said its goodbye. This week's theme was more-or-less 80s, but I managed to sneak one in from the 90s, because the vibe demanded it! Had a couple of hiccups because I tried to power through the glare, rather than planning ahead. Another net gain in risk vs. reward. Losses happened more toward the end. Got lucky with a few tracks I hadn't prepped with cue points. I really need to get to know these tracks better. Couple of Dark Wave-ish tracks at the end could use a solid edit. It's time--I need to start making my own edits.

Sublime Saturdays at Gelato Vero Caffe this last weekend was special as fudge. The Son of Wands showed us his gentle side with his storytelling. He was able to mix an Indie edge with a marshmallow-textured Deep House sound for brilliant effect. This is a surprising departure from is Peak Time sets, although we knew he would own a more calming soundscape in our sacred space.l The place was overflowing with friends,. foot traffic, and top shelf vibery on a rare San Diego overcast day.

Gelato Vero Sublime Saturdays 6 7 25

No funky intro. This is a mini Obsession Session with a few sequences from OS III, except it's 75% smaller at about 80 minutes. It's a teaser for my second attempt at Obsession Sessions III. I felt like I could do better, and I'm upping the tracks from 60 to 80. So it will probably clock at six hours. We'll see. In the meantime, enjoy some EBM, Darkwave, Dark Disco, and Witch House.

I made my first basic edit in Rekordbox of Geistech's "Tried". Just moved some parts and gave it structure to fit better between the tracks before and after. Happy to hear feedback. I didn't chuck it into Logic Pro, but I'm going to give it a go. Maybe add some harmony.

Most of the other tracks were edited to smooth out the intro/ outro runways for smoother transitions. A lot of tracks in the dark genres aren't super beat-match friendly. It came out pretty close to how I wanted it to sound. Not perfect, but close to my goal!

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.

James Tarry is a DJ and producer known for his dark driving  melodic sound. Originally developing his DJing skills in Canada, he continued to hone his craft in Australia, shaping a style that balances intensity with emotion. Inspired by deep atmospheres, thunderours basslines and hypnotic melodies, James creates sets that take listeners on an immersive, cinematic experience.
