We are excited to have Trish O. on the guest mix duties for episode 28 of DTLA Radio!  

Cutting her teeth in clubland as a teen, digesting a diet of ‘90s Hip-Hop, House and Trance, London-based DJ/Producer Trish O is a refined and refreshing talent making strides in the realms  of House and Techno music. 

Becoming increasingly well-known for her prominent sonic blueprint of rave-focused House and Techno Productions, Trish continues to go from strength to strength as one of the UK’s most promising talents with a commendable catalogue of impressive label signings. 

Having been a technically gifted DJ for over a decade, Trish began making an impact as a Producer in 2020 via a breakout release on renowned New York artist Roland Clark’s Delete  Records - featuring the vocals of Roland himself. Since then, Trish has gone on to unleash standout releases on several well-respected electronic imprints, including a collaboration with Roland Clark on Oliver Heldens’ esteemed Heldeep Records and a stunning debut on UK imprint Toolroom. 

For all of her studio efforts, Trish has already seen an overwhelming wave of support from artists and fans. Her ever-growing list of plaudits includes plays from Mark Knight, Blasterjaxx and Ferreck Dawn, amongst others. Trish’s releases have regularly reached high-charting positions on Beatport & Traxsource, with her Spotify playlist coverage reaching over 100,000 listeners at its peak. 

As a performer, Trish is a seasoned professional. No stranger to international territories, she has left her mark with emphatic sets across Europe and India, supporting Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, Funkagenda, D Ramirez, Khoma, Guy J, Cosmic Gate, Lost Frequencies, wAFF and many more. She is also a regular instalment on London’s globally adored club scene, where she frequents the likes of Ministry of Sound, Egg, Lightbox, DJ Mag’s Work Bar and countless Thames boat parties - Where she initially started. 

Adding a final impressive stamp on her resume, Trish is also an integral part of the ‘We Are Listening’ campaign. A platform, event series and mentoring programme from the Toolroom Academy that aims to encourage and develop new female/non-binary talent in electronic music.

Three fresh names hit Strangelove for the very first time, Dario Nunez, PIVE (ES) & Danny Rhys debut on the label with ‘Follow The Chant’.

Dario’s been unstoppable this year with standout releases on Toolroom Trax, Claptone’s Golden Recordings and HUGEL’s Make The Girls Dance that cements his place as one of Spain’s hottest talents. On the other side, Danny Rhys has been making waves too, with support from Fedde Le Grand, Dombresky, CID, Nicky Romero and multiple spins on KISS UK. Having already collaborated on Toolroom Trax as artist and label, Dario and Danny have built some serious chemistry in the studio and this new collab brings in the fresh spark of PIVE (ES) to complete the trio.

Danny Rhys is a UK underground House & Tech House artist and works within the A&R team at the renowned Toolroom Records. Releasing on some of dance music’s notorious labels such as the mighty Toolroom, HouseU, Flashmob LTD, Alex Preston’s Basement Sound and DJ S.K.T’s Stashed Music to name a few. Boasting high, feel good energy, bumpy basslines, rolling percussion and infectious vocals in every track, Danny’s music is ready for the dancefloors and clubbers alike. With a Traxsource Tech House No. 1 under his belt collaborating with house legend vocalist Mr. V with the single ‘Damn Good’! With AAA artist support from the likes of David Guetta, Mark Knight, Kryder, TCTS and Gorgon City amongst continued radio support from BBC Introducing, KISS and Toolroom Radio. Welcoming Danny into the digital world of streaming Danny Rhys has so far been supported in some of the globes top playlists such as Spotify Housewerk, UK House Music, Operator, and Basement, as well as David Guetta’s playlist, Toolroom, Mark Knight’s Killer Cuts, Tiesto’s Musical Freedom, Spinnin Records, Armada Music, Elrow and Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio. Working closely with Mark Knight as the producer of Toolroom Radio and Mark’s weekly show on Kiss, Mark Knight himself presented Danny with the opportunity for his own guest slot in his Saturday Night Kiss show presenting music each week on air with the ‘White Label’. Danny’s monthly podcast ‘Straight From The Record Box’ showcasing the best in dance music is listed in the Top 10 Best UK Left Wing Podcasts of 2021 which is a huge honor to be recognised as a tastemaker in the scene. 

Notorious for his energetic performances using the full potential of what the decks can offer, Danny involves every floor groover with the emotion of fusing all sub-genres of House music! Having taken stage across Europe's most notable clubs and venues Danny has performed at the infamous Amnesia Ibiza, Kalypso (Elrow) Croatia, We Are Festival, Ministry of Sound, Egg LDN and that’s only to name a few. Having opened for Mark Knight, Tough Love, Leftwing : Kody, Seth Troxler, Danny has since joined the #ToolroomFamily performing at their London residencies at Ministry Of Sound & Studio 338 in which the label is predicting big things for Danny Rhys.

I am a DJ. Yes. And I produce music. House Music. And - I believe in the magic that good music can deeply trigger our emotions.  And - I run this label called SUGARSTARR TRAXX. Feel free to collaborate and release with me.

And this is my full story:
 
Sugarstarr is a DJ and Producer, based in Vienna. In the Musicbiz since 1998 he had several #1 Club-Hits released on labels such as Spinnin‘ Deep, Enormous Tunes, Ministry Of Sound, Kontor, Positiva, Universal, Sony, Defected, Toolroom, Subliminal, WePlay and many more. The type of style that is typical for Sugarstarr can be described as Deep-Funky-Techhouse with Vocals & Soul. One of his latest releases was called "Hey Sunshine"​ an hit the #1 in the Beatport-Charts for 8 weeks in a row nad #2 All-Over . It's supported by the likes of Claptone, EDX, Oliver Heldens, Fedde Le Grand, and many many more. The early releases and achievements in his almost 20 years lasting career was along his partner Syke. Thus the project was called Syke'n'Sugarstarr. They cemented their reputation as premier producers and DJs with a string of releases which where also supported by the A-League of the Electronic Dance Music Scene, incl. Mark Knight, Tiesto, Bob Sinclar Kaskade, David Guetta. One of the biggest tunes they ever produced was the collaboration with Housemusic-Legend CeCe Rogers and the reincarnation of the classic "No Love Lost"​ which was three weeks the "Essential New Tune Of the Week"​ of Pete Tong's  Show on BBC Radio 1. Back to Sugarstarr as a solo-artist, which he now embodies since 2014 with huge success. Beside a long list of releases such as "Ticket 2 Ride"​ "Are You Watching Me"​, "Like That Sound"​ or "My Belief"​  it's one more to mention here. It's about the 2014 collaboration with Redman & Method Man (Wu-Tang Clan) in a different way, as Goh. The track called „I Used To Be“ and sat well on the No. 1 position on Beatport for six (!) weeks in a row too. This newly created style combined Nu Disco with Rap & Hip Hop elements. But - the most appealing aspect of Sugarstarr is just how fresh he sounds. Both with his productions and his DJ'ing, which, as anyone who has seen him behind the decks will know, is as diverse and experimental as his studio work.
