The beating heart around which 'Gilded' is woven is the bodhrán, a native Irish frame drum with which Nyquist uses innovative techniques to push the instrument beyond its ordinary confines.
Mirroring the instrument's sound through modelling software, the album's title itself nods to a theme of transformation, suggesting something familiar burnished to a new brilliance, giving it new life. The result being a truly unique unfurling of the harmonic, hypnotic and rhythmic potential of the bodhrán.

I’ve loved immersive audio things since falling asleep to prog rock albums on cassette players at night as a kid. These are things I’ve made over the years as Batty Roy, Keta Bush & Sonic Headtrip Inc while DJing and messing around with Ableton.

MUR·MUR c’est la rencontre de quatre musicien·ne·s qui tissent un pont entre les répertoires du Centre France, du Massif Central et du Poitou. Oscillant entre collectages et compositions, iels évoluent dans le paysage des musiques modales et actuelles pour proposer un répertoire de bal varié, au service de la danse.
L’instrumentarium éclectique – banjo, violon, voix, accordéon, saxophone et synthétiseur – invite à l’expérimentation. Dans l’assemblage des timbres et la recherche de textures sonores, les bourdons et les mélodies s’entremêlent aux chants. MUR·MUR ça écorche les genoux et ça met du baume au cœur.
