If you are directly managing all your staff, you are both the owner and manager.

Im Gespräch mit Bernd Berkhahn wird schnell deutlich: Diese Erfolge sind kein Zufall. Mit messerscharfer Analyse, individueller Betreuung und einer tiefen Leidenschaft für seinen Sport formt er Tag für Tag Spitzenleistungen in seiner Magdeburger Trainingsgruppe, in der sich inzwischen Athletinnen und Athleten aus mehreren Nationen versammeln.

Außerdem erzählt Bernd Berkhahn, warum er nach den Olympischen Spielen nicht auf die Couch, sondern direkt zurück in die Schwimmhalle ging, wie er mit Neid und Missgunst anderer Stützpunkte umgeht, was ihn an Magdeburg fasziniert – und warum ihm sein Trainerstudium an der Trainerakademie in Köln bis heute wertvoll ist.

Seit dem 1. Juli 2025 trägt Berkhahn neben der Verantwortung für den Bereich „Lange Strecke“ auch die Verantwortung als Bundestrainer für den Freiwasserbereich – und wir fragen uns: Wie schafft man das alles und welche Ziele bleiben jetzt eigentlich noch?
