Fascinating living music machine in which strings and trombone become one.

Buisonic sounds angular, sultry, raw and pleasing to the ear at the same time, in short, everything you want to feel at a live concert, and you only need to listen. However, it’s also rewarding to see this living music machine in motion: five characterful players, improvising their way through rich musical landscapes.

Electric guitars play a central part in this new band led by Joost Buis. As a trombonist he’s inspired by famous colleagues as well as his favorite singers. As a composer he has previously explored the space jazz territory of Sun Ra. Additionally, Buisonic consists of Telecaster maestros Paul Pallesen and Jeroen Kimman, double bassist Dion Nijland and Knalpot drummer Gerri Jäger. The latter will be replaced by Tristan Renfrow during this concert.

Through the static of the wasteland’s call,

Smoke curls up where the shadows creep,
Faded hum keeps my secrets deep.
Another fight, another scar to mend,
Counting time ‘til the signal’s end.

Ashes fall where I stand, blood and dust on my hands.
Leading through the haze, in this broken world’s maze,
I’m the one who stays, burning out in the blaze.

New waves crash like a storm at sea,
Frequency’s wild, but it won’t break me.
Tease and shove, keep the souls in line,
But the world’s chains choke this heart of mine.
Light a spark, let the embers fly,
I’m still here, though I don’t know why.

I’ve had the big honor to play a hybrid-live-set from 00:30-01:30 from Sat-Sun night at Zirkus Mond stage right after the marvelous Pinky Promise show and right before @arturo_mp3 was heating up the floor again! 🥵

And you crazy queerdos in the crowd were just blowing my mind!! 🥹 I’ve felt such a vibrant connection and responsiveness to and of you - you were just there and we were holding this space together - thank you so much for that it really touched my heart and soul 🫰🏼😻 #dancerstothefloor

Aaaand it’s also been a very special show to me because I’ve been in the studio the last months and worked on some very nasty tunes you also hear in the video and it’s been the first time ever I played all of them in a set!

Meet Mr. Tyler Larson, the visionary artist behind the genre-bending sound of "Electro-Classical." With a unique fusion of 80's and 90's nostalgia and classical music, Mr. Tyler Larson's innovative approach swaps out traditional orchestral instruments for vintage synthesizers and iconic video game sounds. This niche yet captivating sound has been gaining momentum, with his groundbreaking achievements including breaking into the top 40 worldwide classical music charts on ReverbNation in 2021. His creative journey continues to inspire and captivate new audiences.

Mr. Tyler Larson's creativity doesn't stop there. He has re-imagined beloved video game soundtracks, with albums like "Minecraft Vol. Alpha Juno-1" and "Undertale Juno-1" offering a relaxing, spacey vibe thanks to his trusty Roland Juno-1 Synthesizer. Beyond his personal projects, he's been a prolific collaborator, contributing to over 35 tracks with songwriting teams worldwide. His music has found its way into mainstream media, including the TV soap opera Young and the Restless on CBS, and his rock anthem "Sports Enthusiasm" will feature in the upcoming documentary Shaken and Stirred. Churchie has a long history of excellence in music and music education. The School was established in 1912 and since that time has had a strong association with St John’s Cathedral. Cathedral choristers are given scholarships to attend Churchie and further broaden their involvement in a multitude of outstanding ensembles whilst singing in the choir and beyond once their voices begin to change. 

The music programme has always had an enviable reputation within Australia both for its depth of talent developed within the School and the broad range of musical disciplines in which it seeks to engage every pupil who attends the School.
