For the second in our new DJ mix series Argentinian artist Lagartijeando (Wonderwheel Recordings) masterfully weaves together Cumbia, Folktronica, and global bass, a pure dancefloor oriented expression of his own signature sound, Andean flutes sit alongside Brazilian percussive rhythms, deep Gnawa melodies alongside Afro-house and way beyond. Step onto the Lagartijeando dance floor – a desert covered in a storm of stars.

Raised on rhythms of the Argentinian backwoods, Matias Zundel dips his dance tracks in country folk gold where chacareras, huaynos, and vidalas two step with jungle and electronica.

Shaman chants and charango guitar loops are the backbone of Lagartijeando’s signature style. Native voices are the backbeat to percussion and bass tracks with organ melodies combining cumbia and psychedelic noise. Songs give deference to ritual and maintain respect for tradition while pushing the old into a cosmic space future.

I also do music for art film, video games, theater, art installations.

Bio
Lucas Penayo (1978), con más de 20 años de trayectoria en la escena musical, es un productor, DJ, músico, percusionista y beatmaker argentino.
Desde los años 90, como compositor, productor e intérprete, ha llevado su música a diversos festivales y espectáculos junto a destacados artistas.

Etnia Bits es el proyecto actual de Lucas Penayo, un viaje sonoro que fusiona sonidos y estilos como House,World Music, Dub, Bass, Indie Dance, Nu Disco, Funk, Afrobeats, Minimal, Downtempo, Deep, Folktronic, Ethnic Music,etc. 
Desde su lanzamiento en 2019, este proyecto se ha presentado en América y Europa con una propuesta única y experimental.

Se desarrola en diferentes formatos como: DJ, Hybrid o LiveSet, llevando al público a un viaje sonoro sin igual.
