Whats up good people!—

There's some vagueness to this song, and when I can, I am mindful about using more inclusive lyrics and leaving things open-ended to allow for listener's interpretation where more people can identify with it. So that it's more likely to speak to you about your own situation. These lyrics could be about many things. For me, what inspired me was talking about the avalanche of the Mental Health epidemic in America. And offering hope that there *is* a way of rising from what feels like an absolute death. Part of the arising is seeking healing/treatment with (and in the safety of) a beautiful community, and in that community, a whole new way to live. 

I was going to simply release an instrumental (which is a world's easier to release than vocal songs, i get so picky about lyrics) especially since I was MIA most the week. But DJ Replay did an awesome remix of a very rough draft of this song “Re-Arise/Feel The Rise”, and he added more structure to it and made it sound amazing. I loved it so much that I let myself get carried away trying to finish it. Here’s what I’ve ended up releasing for #NewMusicMonday today.


Last week I went to a 7-day Buddhist retreat. 

Buddhist retreats are *nothing* like what are considered retreats in the West, and I completely forgot that. It was anything BUT a retreat, it was the hardest back-to-back meditations I’ve ever done. There were 4 sets of 3-hour meditations where it’s Sitting 60min, Walking 60min, Sitting 60min. (4x3 hours = 12-hours). The first meditation is at 5am. The last meditation ends at 10pm. 😂 Needless to say, I could not keep up and began missing meditations.
