[Music begins with a sparse, atmospheric, delay-heavy guitar riff, reminiscent of guitar by a world famous Irish pop band. A steady, deliberate drumbeat and a deep, pulsing bassline join in.]

From a Vegas Sphere, a shimmering, righteous light. On an Irish throne, you judge what’s wrong and right.
A four-chord sermon for a seven-decade fight. Bono, you found your devil for the night.
You sing of stolen land, of chains and occupation. But you skipped the chapters of planned annihilation.
The history of wars born of pure rejection. Disguised as virtue, a flawless misdirection.

And the band plays on, a righteous, hollow sound.While the truth lies buried in rejected ground.
You scream of 'evil' from your golden cage. But you never learned to turn the goddamn page.
No peace, no talks, no recognition. That's been their mission, their one condition.
You stand in solidarity with a fantasy you've made. While you sharpen the blade of a hateful masquerade.

Let's go to '37, the Peel Commission's plea. Two states for two peoples, for all the world to see.
The Jews accepted a sliver, desperately. The Arabs answered "No," with violent certainty.
Fast-forward, '47, the UN drew the line. The Jews said "Yes, this desert can be mine.".
The Arabs cried "Invasion!" five armies intertwined. To wipe a new star from the sky, by hatred's grand design.

Remember Camp David? The year was 2000. A state on 97 percent, a future they were housing.
A capital in Jerusalem, a deal to be arousing. But Arafat said "No," and went right back to Browse.
For ways to burn it down, he launched the Intifada. Suicide vests and shattered glass, a bloody, grim sonata.
Then Olmert in '08 offered even more. Abbas just walked away and slammed the door.

We left them Gaza on a platter in '05. Did they build a paradise? Did peace and freedom thrive?.
No, they built tunnels, for a dark and bloody prize. To feed the diabolical trap you see with your own eyes.
You call it "colonial genocide," a cheap and empty phrase. While their charter calls for killing Jews in these and future days.
You cry of starvation, but you don't see the theft. By Hamas who takes the aid, 'til there's nothing left.

So stick to the chords, Bono. Stick to the soaring highs. Stick to the anthems that can fill the desert skies.
This isn't "With or Without You," it's fact against the fiction. Your solidarity's just another celebrity addiction..
You don't want peace... you want a beautiful song. And you don't care...
You don't care who you prove wrong. Leave the history to those who've read it...
Leave the truth to those who've bled it...

Funk #1 suggests there is a Funk #2, however there is not.  Funk #1 is the product of me playing along with a Stones tune one afternoon and turning it around into something similar sounding but different.  The lyrics are typically vague but universal in tone.  The band finds a nice groove and Em belts it out. We hope you like this little rocking ditty. Never - Take 2 (Sterling)

In a Minute was a moody instrumental track for a while with a title and not much else lyrically. Over the last couple of weeks I started to come up with a series of lines that seemed to fit the music and got the team together and cut this new version which is a lot more fun and upbeat than my original demo (which I might post for shits and giggles!). Our Time In the Sun started life as a collaboration between Jackie Irving and myself and I will always be indebted to her for her efforts.  However, I never really liked the arrangement or the timing around the delivery of the vocals, so we've crafted new lyrics and a new melody line and re-recorded the instrumental track. Over a 40 year span, I have written a countless number of songs, alone or in collaboration with others.  Here, you will find the product of those efforts with many songs recently re-recorded.  Frequently, earlier versions live here as well. All songs were written by me (RC Sterling) unless otherwise noted.  While several singers contribute to what you hear, the most common element across the material is a commitment to crafting catchy pop/rock/alternative tunes. In some instances AI programs have been used to isolate older vocal tracks when the original audio files could not be found.  All tracks have been auto tuned and pitch corrected as needed. Unfortunately, nothing could help those demos that featured my lead vocals. 😁
