Athens was full of surprises for us. We stumbled across Areopagus “Mars” Hill on our morning run up to the Acropolis. Thriving by night, we were shocked at the number of modern restaurants that turned our heads – all sitting within eyesight of Europe’s oldest standing buildings. From our walking tour to our time in the Acropolis Museum, we were surprised at this incredibly thoughtful city that proved to be both ancient and modern.
