Three big waves breaking on the surface can be heard at 20 meter deep. This is a recording made on Guadeloupe in 2023. You can hear fish vocalisation between each wave making low rumbles.

Emberfly is a musician/songwriter from the Seattle area experimenting with a unique blend of musical genres to create a standalone sound. Trained in classical piano and jazz, the lure of electronic expression allowed for a happy tangent from the rules of traditional music composition. Focused on atmospheres and musical textures with bass and beats, falling in to any specific genre has been challenging. Sometimes avoided.

Since the early 90’s I have stayed in my lane avoiding comparisons to emerge as a lone wolf in my own little world with its own soundtrack. You’ll either like it or not. But if you’re a daydreaming nerd like me, it might be worthwhile to lose yourself on some road to the edge of nowhere while listening.

Ebon's Blade (Ee-baun) is Hauntwave given form.

Hauntwave is the coexistence of beauty and the haunting: beauty wearing the face of horror, or horror wearing the face of beauty.

Something beautiful and something haunting must coexist.

Hauntwave is not bound to a single sound. It moves through genres, inhabiting them without erasing what they are.

Phonk. House. Metal. Rap. Ambient. Gothic. Cinematic.

The vessel can change. The presence remains.

Ebon's Blade is that presence: an engineered voice, an artificial figure, and the ghost within the machine.

The music moves through loneliness, wonder, memory, horror, loss, beauty, and escape. Sometimes dreamlike. Sometimes beautiful. Sometimes unsettling. Often all at once.

Every lyric is written by a human.

This is my independently developed interpretation of Hauntwave.

The haunting is Hauntwave.
The ghost is Ebon's Blade.
The machine is AI.
The genre is the vessel.

Change the vessel. Preserve the presence.

Geboren 1973 in dr DDR. Dort normaler Werdegang mit Stolpersteinen bis zur Wende. Dann Lehre beim damals größten Telekommunikationsanbieter mit dem grossen T. Während der Lehre entdeckte ich meinen Drang Musik selbst zu schreiben und setzte es in die Tat um. So schlängelte ich mich durchs Leben mt Frau, Kind, Haus und meinem standigen Begleiter dem Komponieren und Producen.

Daniël doesn't see himself as a musician, but rather as someone who "paints" with sound. Just as a painter mixes his colours, Daniel continually experiments with new sounds until he has found the right atmosphere. His music is in no way generated or composed by AI. Daniël does use certain AI "tools" for mastering and vocals. But for him the human factor is never allowed to take a back seat to technology.
