I’m a composer, musician and technologist exploring spontaneous songwriting, the art of turning instinct into something tangible. Every track starts as a live improvisation, a melody or harmonic shape unfolding in one take. Every vocal line, lyric and instrument originates from my own performance, sung, played or shaped through hours of focused effort. 

From there, I expand the idea using digital instruments and responsive systems that perform under my direction. The technology doesn’t write for me; it plays with me. I conduct it through tone, phrasing and emotion, shaping each layer until it matches the sound I first heard in my head. 

After two decades as a producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist, I wanted a faster, more expressive way to capture ideas as they arrive. This process reignited that creative spark, the joy of creation in real time and I learn more and more each day. What you hear isn’t programmed; it’s performed. Each piece captures a single moment of imagination, rendered through technology as the missing piece I always wished I had.

Lyo was born in Osaka, Japan and mostly grew up in the U.S. getting many influences from Hip Hop & Break Beats when he was young. When he was 19, he travelled all around Southeast Asia and one of the most spiritual places in the world changed his life, Goa India. He started his career as a Psychedelic / Progressive Trance DJ in 2003, and invited many overseas Artitst & DJ's for gigs in Tokyo. Nowadays, his style is more into Minimal / Tech-house and pushing the boundaries of the next generation of Electronica.
