Although originally included in METROID PRIME, released for the Gamecube in 2002, I first heard this eerie track on SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL, six years after the former game came out.  

Ever since, I've looked for a suitable remix to no avail.  For those reasons, this was one of the first songs I wanted to remix after I got a grasp on FL Studio.

A remix of the main theme of Pocky & Rocky, a Scrolling shooter game for the Super NES I used to play with my friend as a kid.  While the game was fun and easy to learn, we never beat it unfortunately as we would get our asses handed to us at the end of the third stage (the game has six really long stages).

I did pick up and beat the series' newest entry, Pocky & Rocky Reshrined, though!

Such good times.  Much so that I knew I had to remix this song too.  Modern & classic collide in this cocktail of Trance, Shamisens and even punk rock!

As a token of my appreciation and as a nod to the cons' founder & DJ namesake, I decided to do a Trance remix of one of the most well known songs from the Kirby series (and my personal favourite).  

I first heard a version of this song in Kirby's Dream Land 3 on my Super NES, released back in 1997.  However, it first appeared in Kirby Super Star (known in Europe & Australia as Kirby Fun Pak), released a year prior.

I ended my DJ set @ Kirbiicon 2024 with this and now, it's available for FREE DOWNLOAD.  Enjoy!

Dragon Quest was one of a few series I unfortunately never got to play as a kid.  I actually first heard about it through another game I had on my Wii called FORTUNE STREET (known as BOOM STREET & ITADAKI STREET in Europe & Japan, respectively), a game featuring characters from the Dragon Quest and (in some iterations) Super Mario series that could best be described as MARIO PARTY meets MONOPOLY.

FORTUNE STREET was also where I first this song as well.  I seem to have a liking for songs in the key of G (or 6A as Serato lists it).  My interest in it grew even more when it played during a commercial advertising the Hero Character from the series being added to SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE.  And now, I've tailor made it to use in my sets.

Nice to meet you. My name is Randy Derricott, an Autistic EDM DJ/producer & Pharmacy Tech based in Coral Springs, Florida (a suburb of Fort Lauderdale) by way of Richmond, Virginia.

Active since 2004, I mainly make & play Trance & Progressive House.  I also sometimes let my nerdy side show by playing what I call "Comicontronica" or EDM remixes/covers of songs from video games, anime & the like.

My adventures have had me perform at a number of venues throughout South Florida as well as some of the biggest conventions in the US, among which include Anime Iwai, Otakufest, MegaCon, Kirbiicon, Colossalcon Ohio & Ichibancon in North Carolina.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I put making music on the backburner to focus on my DJing adventures, both on Twitch and, once things eased, live shows.  I've recently decided to jump back into the music making pool again.
