in the middle age, for the norsemen aka vikings "drengr" was the highest honor to ever receive, it means you're an honorable warrior who never backs down from a fight no matter the strength, size or power of the opponent. even if you're wounded in the darkest place, a Drengr will push through.
long story short, it basically means badass in viking slang.
