Beautiful Nightmare

A sparse, reflective piece that tries to empathise with the creator of the universe, on themes of origin, memory, and distance. I was inspired by the title of the Russian sci-fi novel "Hard To Be A God". It sits somewhere between spoken word and ambient composition, drawing lightly from trip-hop, choral textures, and cinematic minimalism. It wasn’t written to sound like anything in particular, but those who hear echoes of Björk or early Massive Attack (long-time favourites of mine) may find something familiar in the juxtaposition of tenderness and gravity.
