PRALLCAST 014 is here! And it´s a special one as it is the first vinyl only podcast for JIMMIE, aka "Baby Vinyl". She started playing vinyl only sets earlier this year in april. Crafted from records ranging from raw electro and deep breaks to dreamy, synth-driven house, this PRALLCASTS channels a romantic 80s atmosphere. Enjoy the journey!

JIMMIE is a Berlin-based DJ whose eclectic style reflects a deep connection to the city’s underground scene. Known for her immersive, genre-defying sets, she draws from a diverse musical background spanning Electro, Indie, Rock, Detroit Techno and leftfield electronic sounds. Her sets radiate a dynamic energy that transforms the dance floor into a collective experience. 

Recently, JIMMIE has become an active member of Queer Vinyl Night, where she has embraced the craft of vinyl-only mixing.

PRALLCAST 014 - JIMMIE (vinyl only)

DVS NME is a Colorado-based Electro producer and DJ originally from Southern California. Active since 1999, he crafts stark, machine-driven music rooted in analog hardware and recorded live in single takes. Influenced by Drexciya, AUX88, and Anthony Rother, his sound blends dystopian textures with precise rhythm programming. He’s released music on respected underground labels like Solar One Music, Transient Force, and Ukonx Recordings, and now Future Tones Rcoeds. A key advocate for the genre, he also curates the long-running Dark Science Electro podcast, supporting global Electro since 2010.

1. Beam
A slow-burning opener built around a TR-606 groove, chopped vocal fragments, and delicate string flourishes. At 116 BPM, it's the most restrained cut on the EP—staccato and skeletal, but quietly emotional.

2. Carveout
Driven by a classic four-on-the-floor pulse, "Carveout" rides a surging bassline and tightly layered synths. Functional on the surface, but subtle shifts in tone give it depth beneath the structure.

3. Debt Trap
The most club-oriented track on the record. With a jerky low-end and nimble 606 programming, "Debt Trap" combines dancefloor impact with off-kilter synth work that refuses to settle.

4. Ratchet Effect
A standout cut that channels DVS NME's signature sound—sharp, modular arpeggios, machine-funk rhythms, and intricate modulation. At once clinical and soulful, it’s the EP’s most complex and defining moment.

5. Land Reform
TB-303 acid lines coil around melodic string pads and skittering hi-hats in this mid-tempo closer. "Land Reform" balances raw rhythmic motion with introspective synth textures, ending the record on a reflective note.

For our 34th installment on @radioalhara—airing September 11th at 9 p.m.—we delve deeper into the vibrant African music landscape of the mid-1980s. This was a transformative decade, defined by a spirit of global exchange that resonated across cultures and continents.

Pioneers like Ray Lema (Zaire) and Salif Keïta (Mali) fused their musical heritage with Anglo-Saxon influences, crafting a sound that remained unmistakably raw and rooted in tradition. Meanwhile, Senegal’s Xalam, Thione Seck, and the legendary Youssou N’Dour propelled Mbalax into modernity, infusing it with new energy. In Ghana, Burger Highlife flirted with electrofunk, while Nigeria’s IMO funk cast its gaze toward Brooklyn’s burgeoning scene.

Cubik has been actively DJing since 1995 and is actually one of the longest-playing DJs in Czechia.
His DJ music style has obviously varied over the years, but currently, his DJ sets balance on the border of dance styles: deep house, balearic house, nu-disco, tech house, simply freestyle house with an emphasis on positive vibes.
As a natural progression flowing from his passion for music, Cubik gradually has become a music producer with numerous remixes and releases to his credit on both international and their own Vivacity Music label, which he runs together with his DJ mate, DJ Da Moon.

CONCEPT
After a long standalone journey in the world of electronic music MATO and 7mirror have decided to collaborate – as their taste of music, passion for vinyl and making music – is really close to each other.
For this reason PHONODA and miniSERIES run in the future together to deliver fine selected high quality tunes in DJ mixes from dub techno to real deep house what was the original concept of Phonoda extended with professional visual experience as delivered earlier by miniSeries.
Solely to support the artist all the tracks are legally purchased vinyl or digital releases. Do the same, BUY MUSIC and SUPPORT the ARTIST!
Mixes are going to come from Olavi and Viktor as well from highly appreciated guests. Mixes are going to run under the name of PHONODA-miniSERIES and most probably those get filming as well.

NAME
The name PHONODA is a play of words, "PHONO" - is reflecting on the vinyl enthusiasm of PHONODA's curator. The so called 'Fonoda' was the name of a textile-plant in PHONODA's origin city in the socialist times, a street with identical name is still existing in the city and earlier it became infamous as 'workplace' of 'street-walkers'. The collaboration of this two correspondingly sounding words give the label of PHONODA.

LABEL:
It is our love, our little child and our mission is to bring the very talented Hungarian artists together, who are working exactly in that music scene what we love too. The main rule: Quality instead of quantity!
