If I don’t fly
like the arrow
that I am,
what is my purpose here?

I came 
as column to the infinite.
My roots are strong,
but my sap rises
to catch stars 
in my branches.

You too say to me,
from deep knowing,
with love and care,
to bend my spine,
bring down the branches,
so they may grow
closer to earth. 

Many live here,
some even thrive,
and any stumble
from shallow heights
is no Icarus falling
with molten wings.

Yet a tree answers only
to the call of heights.
If you find it lying
on the ground,
then it is rotting.

Not for me alone
am I pushed up the vertical —
but for the saplings
looking around
to choose their destiny.
What should it be?
Grass, shrub, oak tree?
Half genes, half choice.
Half Grace.

Even if they came
to sever my trunk,
my branches 
are long woven
into the orbits of stars.

Composed in the summer of 2025. Hopefully I can record it with real instruments one day or get better soundfonts, because the soundfonts used in this recording are janky and I dislike them passionately.

Digital Memories: The Colossus

I’m mainly a painter, although I can play simple tunes on the Guitar, Ukulele Charango and Keyboards; hence I think of my musical compositions as ‘sound paintings.’ When I’m creating a new piece I try to picture the scene and the emotions in my mind. The descriptions and the uploaded images are there to assist the listener to visualise my musical creation.  My view of any kind of art be it painting, sculpture or music, is that it should leave an impression, whether it is good or bad is up to the individual viewer or listener. The viewer/listener either likes it or not. I always have music playing (sometimes I even dance to the music) while I’m painting, as it keeps me in the mood of that particular artistic piece.  My main musical influences are Jean Michel Jarre, Frank Zappa, Los Calchakis, Tchaikovsky and The Rolling Stones. I also create small sculptural pieces, write poetry and short stories plus occasionally photography. . My artistic influences are Van Gogh, the Fauvists such as Matisse, Derain and Vlaminck, French and Nordic Impressionists namely Monet, Cezanne, Munch, Osslund and Erichsen.  Nolde, Kalella, Klimpt, Hokusai, Hundertwasser and  Wu Guangzong have also had an influence on my work.

I am a classically trained composer, finished music school in Russia and took private lessons in music composition. I write and orchestrate my works myself.  I am influenced by music of Tchaikovsy, Chopin, Beethoven, Shubert, Alexander Desplat, Thomas and Randy Newman, Danny Elfman. I write in cinematic, orchestral, classical, epic and ambient genres.
