Kicking off 2025 to a foamy start, Virtual Forest presents a new release by co-founder 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 (@fluidmatter). Exploring less-travelled avenues of the bass music continuum, '𝗦𝗼𝗮𝗽' draws on broken techno, drum’n’bass or leftfield, and welds seemingly distant aesthetics with Fluid Matter's vibrant and evocative touch. A profound and colorful EP, closed by a breakneck but delicate remix by druidic bass music trailblazer 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝟱𝘀 (@prieste5s).

Second track 𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘃𝗲 goes deeper into classic Fluid Matter territory, with a crystalline overarching riff supported by a jigsaw-puzzle drum pattern and windy breakbeats. Drum'n'bass-infused but free of spirit, like a song frozen solid in the mountaintops.
