El músico multi-instrumentista y productor peruano radicado en Barcelona Vitu Valera presenta su primer disco de larga duración bajo el sello peruano de avanzada Matraca. El álbum presenta una mirada contemporánea a la música afro-peruana desde el bass y la electrónica con influencia de diversos ritmos como el baile funk, o el dembow, de la mano de los muchos colaboradores de primer nivel como Mikongo aka Miki Gonzales, Nicole Aiff, Carla Valenti, Lukrø, Paulopulus, Opoku, HNKT o Sean Lewis.

Migrantes. Inmigrantes en la nueva ciudad. Emigrantes de la antigua. En búsqueda de un (mejor) futuro. No nos identificamos con una sola comunidad. La comodidad nos aterra y migrar es nuestro estado natural como animales. No estuvimos cómodos al momento de llegar a la ciudad de nuestros sueños. En realidad, esa ilusión se apaga constantemente cuando añoramos con dolor nuestra familia, nuestra loca ilusión de mejorar nuestro país natal. Nuestro futuro es próspero, pero siempre sentimos algo incoherente dentro nuestro porque, “en medio de esta dicha, nos atormenta la nostalgia del pueblo donde dejamos nuestro corazón” (1). Nuestras ciudades no son las favoritas del mundo ni mucho menos las más desarrolladas.

Este LP es colaborativo en su máxima expresión. En total hay 9 artistas en este. De Latinoamérica y Europa. De aquí para allá, de allá para acá. Nadie vive en la ciudad donde nacieron. Todxs residen y viven en una ciudad ajena a su nacionalidad. Cada unx tuvo que abandonar su hogar y crear uno nuevo en la ciudad actual.

Los sonidos del LP tienen en su mayoría uso de quijada de burro y patrón rítmico afroperuano en el cajón. En algunos tracks hay uso de karkabaas, percusión marroquí que se asemeja al afroperuano.
