My rendition of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek” is both a tribute and a reimagining. I set out to capture the haunting, otherworldly textures of her original while reshaping them through my own lens as a producer. Using only Ableton stock plugins, I was able to reconstruct her iconic vocal synth effect from the ground up, blending it with my own sound design and layering techniques. The result is a raw yet immersive take on a track that has always inspired me — a balance between nostalgia and modern intensity. It’s not just a cover, but a deep dive into the granular textures, emotion, and atmosphere that made the song timeless.
