*"I wrote this song because I was stuck between two impossible choices—holding onto someone I could never have or forcing myself to let go before I was ready. Someone once told me, ‘Fake it until you make it,’ but it took me a year and a half after writing this song to truly let go.

I didn’t want to move on because letting go felt like not protecting him. I couldn’t get past what had happened because I still loved him, even though he was still hurting me. That kind of love lingers. It makes you question everything.

What I’ve learned is that it’s okay to feel everything—anger, grief, love, and regret. Healing doesn’t happen on someone else’s timeline. Everyone loves differently. Everyone hurts differently.

The hardest part of healing isn’t time—it’s realizing how much of yourself you gave away and learning to stand on your own again. Staying busy might numb the pain, but it won’t heal it. Until you confront what happened, it will stay buried inside of you, waiting to return.

Seek support, talk to people who understand, and don’t be afraid to feel. You’re not alone. You will get through this. And you are worth so much more than you know."*
