In the Hebrew language, when a word or phrase is repeated, the purpose is to draw our attention to what is it saying. The word holy (qō'dešh) and its basic meaning is to cut or to separate. The word holy means that something is set apart...separate...unique...or a cut above. When the Bible speaks about the LORD being Holy Holy Holy...this means that He is, "set apart, set apart, set apart!" He is unique and in a class all by Himself. 

The Song Holy, Holy Holy, is a jungliest remix of an old hymn that seeks to worship God with a right understanding of Who He is and How great He is! 

The Song Holy City comes from Revelation 21, where John sees the Holy City (The New Jerusalem, which is the New Heaven & the New Earth) that will come down from heaven. This city is where God's will is done all the time and where He will wipe every tear from our eyes. A city, as Hebrews 11:10 says, "foundations," was  "designed and builded by God. This city is the city of the living God (Hebrews 12:22-23), where Jesus reigns as King now. Anyone who follows Jesus, knows that here on earth...we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come (Hebrews 13:14). This is the place that Jesus said He has gone to prepare for His people and will come back to take us too (John 14:1ff)! This song seeks to celebrate as we wait for that New City...that Holy City to come to earth!

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

The Gospel in not a music genre. The Gospel a proclamation of good news about the victory of a king. The message of the Gospel is that God gets victory over sin & death through the death, bury, & resurrection of His Son Jesus, who currently rules & reigns as King now. The resurrection of Jesus sets in motion the beginning of a new creation. In Christ, all of our sins can be forgiven. In Christ, the wrath of God was transferred from anyone who puts faith in Jesus, on to Jesus. On the cross, Jesus was treated as if He was the wickedest person ever. He made Him who knew no sin, to become sin, so that whoever believes in Him, will have the righteousness of God. 

The Gospel is also the power of God unto salvation....this means then that in the Gospel, God is redeeming the world to Himself through His Son. Please believe and please be reconciled to Him. 

The Gospel

Not only does Jesus save us from our sins, but He gives us the grace & ability to persevere. Romans 5:1-5 says: 

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." 

The ultimate goal is that He helps us to fight remaining sin in our lives until He returns. Once He returns, those who are His, will be like Him.
