"NO CUT" [ft. benchday + NATE!]

I found some old tapes...

This is an air check of  WSBS-AM 860 kHz Great Barrington, MA.  It was recorded in January 2004, the last months before the station was sold by longtime owner Berkshire Broadcasting along with their North Adams, MA stations WNAW-AM/WMNB-FM.  

At the time of this recording in 2004, there was no computer automation.  The commercials were played off of Fidelipac/NAB cartridge, while music played from a mix of CD's (find the skipping CD if you can), vinyl records, and Minidisc (MD).  The station's audio production was still executed using reel-to-reel/tape splicing. 

This recording contains voices of some late Berkshire County broadcasting icons Dave Winchester, Tom Jay, and Dick Lindsay. Also heard are current station manager Dave Isby and retired morning man Nick Diller. Oh, and I was the host.
