This ominous sounding title and the song itself came to me the day after the meeting between (president) Trump and (president) Zelensky (and of course vice-president Vance) in the Oval Office. This particular meeting left me dumbfounded and baffled and I didn’t really know what to do with my thoughts and feelings so I made this song. To hear someone mention WWIII out loud left me with a lot of thoughts and at the same time gave me the idea for this song. So thank you for the inspiration. First I wanted to call this song ‘The Awful Office’ (it was a ‘regrettable meeting’ to say the least) but that was to harsh and didn’t cover the feeling I had and wanted to express with this song. The title speaks for itself I guess. The songs subtitle is ‘Hemimetabolism’ which means incomplete or partial metamorphosis. Hemimetabolism is describes the mode of development of certain insects. During this phenomenon the offspring (nymphs) of these insects resemble the adults but still have to develop to their adult form (missing their wings and reproductive organs for example). I thought this phenomenon was a nice touch to the development of this song and maybe even the world in general (except for the part about the wings and reproductive organs :p). The world is run by ‘grown ups’ considered as adults (and hopefully) wise people but the world is not run by wise people. It’s still ego’s and money that rule the world. Just look at all the conflicts around the globe right now (without naming countries or people; just read or look at the news). I think that we, the human race, are still in some sort of developmental stage to something that we cannot comprehend at this moment. Hopefully we’ll develop into something better. Song wise the meaning of hemimetabolism is as follows; the ending resembles the ominous beginning and midpart (more or less the same chords and progression) but the song changes into a more hopeful (albeit still melancholic) sound after a short silence. After listening to the ending for a while I noticed it sounded a bit like ‘October Swimmer’ by JJ72 (remember them?). This wasn’t intentional. I think I'll use this song as a closing song on my next EP or album. Anyway, here it is.

Ep 242: The death of God and the news

So we all had a monday planned that was full of our regular shinanigans - and... that didn't happen - because we had to meet last night at a bar, and discuss WWIII - worked late, got up early, and completely rewrote the FM standards for hours between production swings, and amount of coffee it takes to keep one squirrell and two brain surgeons going for eight hours... because.. f'n revolution baby!  It's WWIII - so we might as well have a good soundtrack and commentary - join us and like, share, and whatever becuase... it's WWIII baby!   

*we realize others are having different responses to this current 'end of the world' - we assure you - we are doing our best to adapt.

WORLD WAR III [MISCHA45K]

It didn’t happen overnight… 

The unthinkable catastrophe that left America in ruins was years in the making…

Telegraphed by ominous warnings and willful ignorance. 

By 2025, cracks were already visible in the nation’s foundation. 

Geopolitical tensions were at a boiling point…

Climate disasters hammering the coasts…

And lunatics controlled the keys to power. 

Experts sounded the alarm:

A 40% chance of a new world war by the 2030s

Many warned, likely involving the United States, China, and other major powers. 

Some even cautioned we had entered a “period of maximum danger” 

A volatile phase, where the slightest spark could ignite a global conflict. 

But America’s leaders and citizens, distracted and divided, failed to heed the signs.

As China surged ahead economically and militarily.

Surpassing the U.S. in raw industrial might…

The balance of power teetered dangerously. 

Military analysts noted that the U.S. could “no longer deter China,” and the risk of a third world war was rising. 

Beijing’s ambitions had grown bold, and Washington’s resolve had grown brittle. 

Meanwhile, climate scientists delivered their dire bulletins: 

Earth’s vital signs were flashing red, and “the future of humanity hangs in the balance,” a global coalition of experts declared in late 2024. 

Year after year of record heat, megastorms, and wildfires signaled that we had entered a “critical and unpredictable new phase of the climate crisis , one that threatened food and water supplies, infrastructure, and ultimately social stability. 

Intelligence officials quietly concurred. 

A once-classified National Intelligence Assessment warned that while climate change alone might not topple nations, it would exacerbate poverty, social tensions, environmental degradation, and “ineffectual leadership”, potentially pushing fragile societies over the edge. 

America was not immune to these pressures; indeed, it was hurtling straight into them.
