A lone traveler pulls off a desert highway at dusk and discovers a glowing well that promises more than it gives. Round and Round the Wishing Well is a modern country-Americana story about the traps we fall into when we’re thirsty for meaning, connection, or escape.

What looks like salvation becomes a mirage ... a cycle that keeps pulling you back even when you know better.  Pedal steel, dusty-road acoustics, and a haunted blue glow set the scene for a song about illusion, addiction, and the moment you finally walk away.  If you’ve ever felt stuck in a loop you didn’t see coming, this one’s for you.

Wishing Well

Here, somewhere. 

A collaboration with Our Forgotten Future, who also provided the cover art. 

He laid down these wonderful ambient textures as a canvas to build on, then it took me 2 months to figure out how to take this sense of movement and progression and elevate it. I've been experimenting a lot with low-pass gates as a way to make rhythmic elements from drones and textures and this was natural way to build up this piece, by processing the source materials in multiple ways - rhythmically, through resonation, harmonization, and a little distortion. 

The pulse track took so many takes to get the balance of punch and motion without overloading everything else.
