PREMIERE: Damne, Tutulsky - Plants - Plants [Wetland]

The raindrops drummed upon the ponds of the wetlands, creating crisp and powerful sounds, akin to the most exquisite percussion instruments of nature. Rainwater soaked the reed beds, each droplet creating a frictional melody against the leaves, reminiscent of the playful notes of a violin bow on its strings.
This rain sound was not merely a simple auditory experience; it carried the rhythm of nature and the vitality of life. Each raindrop seemed to narrate its own story, dancing in harmony with every life form in this wetland sanctuary. It was as if the entire world was rejuvenating in this rain, with each sound weaving a vivid and enchanting tapestry.
I closed my eyes, allowing the rain sounds to fill my ears, while my heart swelled with reverence and admiration for nature. In that moment, I felt the true power and boundless charm of the natural world. This was not just a rain shower; it was a baptism of the soul and a tribute to life itself.

Punic Wars

PREMIERE: Martyn Playfrd - Manipulation [Wetland]

Recording 4328.	Wetland night.  24th May ’24 – 12.43am.  Near school garden. 	14m30.	Rated 8.	8020’s & MixPre3.  A Spotted Crake calls quite loudly sometimes, while further away some frogs call.   In the distance a Bittern booms sometimes and a Sedge Warbler sings.  Around 8m00 and 10m00 and in the closing seconds is an odd sound.  At around 9m05 the distant Savi’s Warbler can be heard better.   
At 10m05 a moth ? flies by, it sounds like a distant motorbike.  At 13m20 a splash.  The wetland sounds were great, so I set up the 8020s and the MixPre and put it at the mowed viewing spot and began recording, went inside to work, when I came out to stop recording it was a good time to do so because a jet was about to fly over and I could hear some distant music start up.  It was about 1.20am or so when I got to bed.

One of the most overused words in electronic music, besides the often used 'genius' and 'banging', might be 'hypnotic'. Of course, any repetitive music with chords or tones and a steady pulse might qualify for that term. But in the case of Mogo, the alias of Mexican producer Arturo Jimenez, it has seldom sounded more true and to the point. I don't know if it's the soft focus synths that suck you in or the clean, propulsive rhythms, but it works like a charm.

Reminds me a lot of Blade Runner 2049's soundtrack, while at the same time sounding nothing like it. It has an element of sci-fi, more elements of really deep, Terrence Dixon-esque Detroit techno, but that soft touch in the synths and laid back approach to letting the elements of the songs do its work on your mind and thoughts is the key element. Mogo easily bends space and time to take you on a journey beyond the linear realm. Give in to it's seductive charm and hug the warm sounds coming out of your speakers, you won't regret it...

A cabinetmaker by trade.  I have been recording birds for over 41 years.  Even as a seven year old I loved to hear the sound of birds. 
I believe that birdsong is a perfect reflection of the natural environment and yet a part of the experience of the environment.  
Over the years I have made some wildlife films and videos.  For wildlife recording I have been around Ireland, Wales, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Belize, Guyana, Brazil, Peru and Costa Rica.
