"Le Voyage en Chine" (The Journey to China), a three-act opéra-comique by François Bazin (1816–1878), premiered in Paris on December 9, 1865. Although Bazin spent many years as an unsalaried teacher of harmony and accompaniment at the Conservatoire, he was eventually appointed professor of composition. Among his handful of operatic successes, "Le Voyage en Chine" proved the most popular—judging by the number of published arrangements alone. The overture opens with a lively march in D major, building to a striking introductory climax. What follows evokes little sense of a voyage to China—which is entirely fitting if you’ve read the libretto by Labiche and Delacour.

"Le Trompette de Monsieur le Prince" (The Prince's Trumpeter), a one-act opéra-comique by François Bazin (1816–1878), premiered in Paris on 15 May 1846. The story takes place in 17th century France, during the civil wars known as "Le Fronde". The prince's trumpeter and the sounds of war are lightly depicted in this spirited overture, another unknown gem.

"Le Roman d'Elvire" (The Tale of Elvira), an opéra-comique in three acts with music by Ambroise Thomas (1811–1896), premiered in Paris on 4 February 1860. Set to an original libretto by Alexandre Dumas (père), the work was met with anticipation but failed to captivate Parisian audiences. Indeed, the failure inspired Thomas to reassess his compositional style, and his biggest successes - "Mignon" and "Hamlet" - followed some years later. For Dumas's part, he never wrote a libretto for the stage again. Nevertheless, this overture is another unknown masterpiece by a known master; written entirely in 6/8 (though in different tempi), the interconnected themes are distinctly and colorfully set apart, while sonata form is eschewed almost entirely.

Ambroise Thomas: Le Roman d'Elvire (1860) - Ouverture

LA GLU ("The Glue") is an opera in four acts (billed as a 'drame musical populaire') with music by Gabriel Dupont (1878–1914), first performed in Nice on 24 January 1910. It is based on Jean Richepin's scandalous 1881 novel - also famously dramatized in 1883, starring Sarah Bernhardt - with libretto by Richepin himself, and Henri Cain. The story takes place in a very salty 19th century Brittany, and tells the tale of the young and dashing Marie-Pierre, and his suffering mother Marie-des-Anges, as he is seduced by the schemes of a newcomer from Paris - Fernande, known as 'La Glu' - who signs her letters with the catchphrase "Qui s'y frotte, s'y colle!" ("Rub against it, you're stuck!")

Dupont's music is dense and melodramatic, like the literary source material, and bears the hallmarks of Dupont's compositional mentors, Massenet and Widor. Never performed in Paris, the work quickly faded into obscurity following its premiere, as did most of Dupont's œuvre; dead at 36 he did not have the chance to develop his style into the burgeoning 20th century. The music presented here is from the first act - the opening Prélude, and the Interlude between the first and second scenes. World premiere recording. Gabriel Dupont: La Glu (1910) - Prélude et Interlude (Acte I)

"La Double échelle" (The Double Ladder), an opéra-comique in one act with music by Ambroise Thomas (1811–1896), premiered in Paris on 23 August 1837. Thomas's first opera produced, the work achieved notable success, playing for 247 performances before being dropped from the repertory. The story is a lighthearted farce involving two suitors using separate ladders to woo their beloved. Much is owed to Rossini and Auber here, not just in the subject but the music itself; the 26-year-old Thomas has not yet developed his original voice, but his masterful orchestration is already starting to materialize. The overture begins with a rustically elegant minuet, which gives way to a sinuous cello melody above pizzicato strings; brief recapitulations are followed by a jaunty Allegro carried through varied orchestral textures. Ambroise Thomas: La Double échelle (1837) - Ouverture

"Gille et Gillotin", an opéra-comique in one act with music by Ambroise Thomas (1811–1896), premiered in Paris on 22 April 1874. Written in 1859 and originally entitled "Gillotin et son père", the work lay dormant until the Opera-Comique mounted a production 15 years later - over Thomas's objections. It was a failure, but this brief yet evocative overture stirs our imaginations immediately; fifes and drum intone a simple military theme which is eventually taken up by the full orchestra in masterful orchestration, replete with fanfares. Ambroise Thomas: Gille et Gillotin (1859) - Ouverture

Ritual Traps transmits lo-fi gospel from the glitch, combining ambient hip-hop, post-religious poetry, and transcultural sonic ritual. With no fixed identity or genre allegiance, the artist folds field recordings, scripture errors, sub-bass psalms, and whispered laments into coded sermons.

Their debut project, God Left the Server, is a 15-track digital séance—an experimental concept album that maps memory, prayer, and identity onto broken signals and ancestral static. Each track is a ritual broadcast from alternate realities: deep sea churches, lo-fi ghost cafés, cyber temples, and spiritual queues where judgment is delayed by divine system failure.

Ritual Traps operates in silence and echo. No selfies. No livestreams. Only sound and signal.

Flemming Dalum, also know as King of the cut, discovered his musical journey at an early age. An interest based out of curiosity for electronic synthesizer legends emerging while he grew up. With his first synth, the Korg Polysix, a lifelong passion was born. He started playing in bands in 1982, experimenting with electronics and the new world of sounds and possibilities. At the same time he started experimenting with records and discovered a natural talent for mixing and blending synths with records, creating his own unique world of sound. In mind that the CD wasn't invented, neither was the HD recorder, the heart in Flemmings set-up was a simple cassette recorder. An invention that should soon add yet another angle to his musical universe. With snappy skills and imagination, the cassette soon became his most important instrument taking him to the next level. The world of mixing. With sampler, echomachine, decks, synths and a beloved cassette recorder, the first true mixes came out of his studio already in 1983. Mixes with so much detail, soon giving him the legendary name "King of the cut". In the same year, 1983, Flemming stumbled across Koto "Chinese Revenge", a discovery that should soon lead Flemming into a brave new world matching his own, with synths and electronics being the heart of the music. The passion became strong and shortly after the Koto discovery, brought him to his first trip to Milan, Il Discotto, Discomagic, Non-Stop, Merak etc. to investigate the Italo phenomenon in detail. The following years Flemming visited the Italian distributors 11 times which later proves to be one of the major reasons to the fact that he has one of the worlds most complete collections of Italo and Disco. Through the years, the synths has been replaced with computers and equipment matching the urge for mixing. Something that has kept the true Italo spirit alive and made Flemming Dalum a legend in mixing today.
