Seeing these DJ's in 90's live had a very different feel than the stuff on their public release albums/tapes. My goal with this project was to make it sound as close to being there live as possible. , I used some of the synth sounds from back then that i personally loved to hear live and kept the vocals to a minimum. There are some deep build ups and lots of Synth knob turny fuckery. I even added reverb sometimes just to make it have that "live venue" feel. While some tracks sound very much like the DJ they are named after, others may just have a hint. But each track i stayed true to what i love while paying homage to the DJ i named them after. Hope you love it too but don't be afraid to shit all over it.

My set from Origin of Trance at Pumpehuset on May 17th 2025. Beat Bizarre was the headliner of the night, so I played lots of oldschool Iboga sounds - mixed with older and newer stuff from around the world. Setting out at 134 bpm and rising to 145. Earliest track from 1997, newest from 2024. Mixing the old with the new is where the fun is at. Beat Bizarre meets Braincell meets Behind Blue Eyes meets British psytrance (like SuperModule, Dickster and early Avalon) plus some Electrypnose magic, a sprinkle of Grouch, some awesome Ace Ventura rollers + a few surprises (and then some Etnica and X-Dream for the ultra nostalgia crew).

WAPAQ is a nascent Psy Trance project by Tristan Kallweit from northern Germany. While he is visiting Psy Trance festivals and partys since 2013, the desire to get behind the decks himself has surfaced only in late 2023. Inspired by artists like Electric Universe and Mad Maxx/Mad Tribe, as well as Galactic Explorers and Audiosonic, he loves to play sets that are intense, fast and include a lot of machinic or electric sounds, preferably so as to give the people on the dancefloor but few breaks to breathe.
