Al elf geestelijken zijn vermoord omdat ze “wonderen” zouden verrichten en bij nummer twaalf blijkt dat iets dichter bij de werkelijkheid te staan dan bij de anderen. Lukt het Scully en Mulder om de 12-jarige Kevin te redden van de moordenaar?

X-files NL - Ep. 03-11 - "Revelations”

This vinyl mix is the 1st transmission in the Underground Frequencies Operation series, which explores the darker, more mysterious corners of electronic music. It spans the genres of acid, darkwave, ebm, electro, industrial, & techno. Some are classics from the late 80s & early 90s, while others are contemporary releases pushing the envelope of underground music. This is the first attempt at recording this mix, so it isn't perfect. But, like the minor imperfections that give records their charm, maybe unsynced transitions are where the magic is.

This series utilizes a dystopian sci-fi aesthetic to comment on current realities & possible futures. The ascendency of far-right forces to the heights of Western political office is a frightening recurrence, but, due to the systemic nature of capitalism & the continuation of colonialism, comes as no surprise. Trump's renewed attacks on migrants & refugees is horrifying. People are being snatched from the streets by masked men, entire families & communities are being torn apart, & thousands of people are being disappeared. This is FASCISM. Ruling classes are utilizing militarized borders, police, & prisons in an attempt to address the crises of capitalism. Migrant justice activist Harsha Walia calls this border imperialism, which is enforced through "imperial subjugation, criminalization of migration, racialized hierarchy of citizenship, and state-mediated exploitation of labor."

In so-called "Canada", PM Mark Carney is also implementing an anti-migrant agenda for the ruling classes. Bill C-12 is described by migrant justice organizations as a "mass deportation and xenophobia bill". According to migrantrightsca, it will block refugee asylum claims (incl. those fleeing the US), expand government power to cancel permits accelerating mass deportations, & remove privacy for asylum seekers opening up further possibilities for abuse. It is our responsibility to demand restitution & reparations for populations displaced by Western imperialism & climate breakdown. Stand up & fight back against this anti-immigrant bigotry!

Mulder en Scully hebben een welverdiende vrije dag en Mulder besteedt deze natuurlijk aan het spotten van UFO’s. Als een agent hem controleert blijkt dat er dat er in het dorp moorden worden gepleegd door kakkerlakken. Mulder is direct gefascineerd en met Scully op afstand en een hele mooie dr. Bambi proberen ze de zaak op te lossen.

Als er in een klein dorp meerdere tieners worden vermoord denkt men al snel aan satanistische rituelen. Scully gelooft er natuurlijk helemaal niks van, terwijl Mulder met behulp van detective White ook het paranormale onderzoekt. Dit tot grote frustratie van Scully.

The intertwined circle and triangle is an ancient alchemical symbol representing a precise transmutation. Extending this incantation to the transformative potential of music, it is also clear that carefully curated audio atmospheres have the capacity to provoke captivating responses among audiences. 

JΔKΟB has a passion for blending evocative sounds and avante-garde releases; all with a distinctly dark, moody, yet alluring atmosphere. Taking inspiration from the radical and rebellious origins of punk and electronic music and the dark music genres their union spawned, he gravitates towards tracks with disco heavy rhythms, reverb drenched snares, sequence driven synths, and brooding, introspective lyrics. With a preference for all things analog, he often chooses selections from his diverse collection of vinyl that spans the sub-genres of the gothic music canon. JΔKΟB’s eclectic sets can simultaneously evoke a nostalgic yearning for the past, while igniting a burning desire for the future.
