Where's the techno?

For me, techno happens in the moment, where the manipulation of tones, timbre, triggers, timing and modulation occurs in real time, using an ever-evolving curated selection of voltage-controlled hardware. (Many of the individual modules were soldered and built myself.)

It is literally impossible for me to play the same music twice. In fact, when I listen back to tracks after a few weeks, I often have little idea of exactly how I made the noises present in the recordings. There are too many variables involved to remember. Which is why it's so interesting and why I never get bored by it.

Everything you hear is a recording of a live performance that I cannot replicate.

For anyone who is into the gear itself, you will find links to the modules used to produce each track in the track description box. You will notice the evolution of my system if you care to compare them.

My musical journey began in a castle, somewhere between bohemian dreams and raw concrete.
As an unnamed duo of art students, we spent our nights in the adjoining 40-square-meter bunker from World War II - no mobile phones, no internet, just cold stone, tangled power cables, and torn-up grunge riffs.
After that band ended in 1995, a whole new world of electronic sounds opened up for me:
The DrumTraks by Sequential Circuits was my gateway; soon came a DX-7, an Atari ST, and endless loops spun through sleepless nights.

I was completely cut off from the outside world of the pre-internet era - lost in my own cosmos. 
Then came Berlin, and with it, new possibilities.
There’s this saying: "If you remember the ’90s, you weren’t really there."

At some point, I drifted into other things and put music aside for a while.
Until that memorable week in the park, just before COVID: I met a philosophy professor from New York, touring Europe, who tried to numb his post-op pain with red wine and oxycodone. He kept talking about his dream of recording a song. So I took him in, got some microphones and an interface, and after a week, we had produced his love song—radio-ready and brimming with magic.

That spark led me back to my own path: In search of new and inspiring sounds, I discovered the Elements by Mutable Instruments and dove headfirst into the world of modular synthesis. Ever since, I’ve been stuck deep in the rabbit hole - when it comes to choosing between new shoes and a new VCA, music usually wins.

Then, in 2022: a roadside, a spontaneous party, everything I owned that could run on 9 volts in my bag. 
My first live performance - improvised, raw, honest.
What’s grown and evolved from there, I call:
