In the dense and diverse world of transformative work, including the glamorous and multifaceted alternate universes some writers have come up with, it’s worth appreciating the value of the vignettes in the fold, the miniature fics tagged One-Shot. These are stories with brief exposition and briefer denouement, no time to explain—those ships won’t wait forever to launch! Sometimes it’s better to go from zero to one hundred to get those scrimblos together, ‘cuz #YOOS and it might be worth the briskness!

To that end, the arrangement is more compact and dry than most of my tracks to keep things simple and contained. Still, it follows a narrative, with a beginning, buildup, climax, and conclusion. Perhaps you can tell when the arrow of love has sung from the quiver and struck the apex of the other’s heart…?

For the bigger picture, this song serves as a short promenade between more elaborate works in my upcoming album, a bridge between tempos of the harder styles.
