When expectations aren't met it can be very straining mentally. Kosei wasn't prepared for what was happening to him all over again. Kaori brought peace and joy to his life and it was being torn from him just as his mother was. Kosei handled Kaori's death much better than his mother's and it was because his heart had made peace with the idea of Kaori being gone. Kosei's harsh words were the last thing he remembered and after gaining a resolve from his mother's friend Hiroko he moved past her death as well. Important thing to take away from this event is that it's ok to be in pain it's part of being human. People don't live forever and having a strong group of friends aids in the healing process, so if you're sad you can listen to this and we can be sad together.

From the moment Kosei met Kaori he knew there was something different about her. Unbeknownst to Kosei, Kaori felt that from him first, a divine energy radiating from them both, and they finally met each other through Kaori's lie. Although, Kaori lied to get close to Kosei it was all in good faith. The light that was sparked in her by Kosei had diminished from Kosei. Kaori reminded Kosei of who he had once been, a child he had forgotten due to the trauma he underwent with his mother. After gaining a fresh perspective on himself, the passion for music he once believed could save his mother ended up saving him. The thing to take away from this is that sometimes we've got to follow the lead of someone we trust when we're lost. Once you've traveled a road enough to become familiar with it, the confidence oozes from your aura.
