that said: waiting to catch a bus back home, had a sit in Gore Park, diagonally across from the fountain (the 'white noise' somewhat off into the right channel), my first attempts at using the envelope features in Audacity to reduce the louder sounds (like the sirens closer to the end) so that i could then increase the overall volume of the recording.

a massively edited clip using my literally brand new Zoom H2n replacement (having bought it at Long & McQuade down the street from there just prior to visit). it was marred by some lady giving me the stink eye while walking her vicious little yappy poodle throughout the cemetery. This is where my dad and uncle are buried.

parked on a bench having made a stop at the LCBO in Jackson Square, decided to record a clip since i had time to kill before catching a connecting bus. most of the shops at that hour in the mall on Saturdays are closed by that point except for a few things like the liquor store, Nations supermarket, and the movie theatre, so most of the passersby are more or less exiting the mall for the evening.

i know you can't HEAR an eclipse, but it had been awhile since i'd done any field recording and figured i'd dust off the old Zoom H2n and record while sky-gazing. also the cam on my phone sucks, the track art is OF the eclipse but hardly did the spectacle any justice.

Where were you?

'severe thunderstorm' rolled through here this morning, which was nice. the conditions were ideal for this audio recording as it was only a bit breezy, not too windy, even though i have a really decent muff for my Zoom recorder it can only muffle so much wind noise.

i am an electronic music maker, musicologist, and ex-dj. unless it's plunderphonics pieces or remixes/mashups (usually in a lo-fi vaporwave drag style) the music is 100% me outside of samples from shows and movies or other media sources, occasionally Shelley or Loren will lend their vocals to my tracks. 

my work with Shelley & Loren is sometimes a hybrid of original music and AI, and not just auto-generated slop, we work a lot on the pieces regardless of whether AI was used or not. they are talented musicians in their own right, and sometimes the end results are magnificent, but we're always experimenting, and the results are sometimes rough... however, we do love damaged sounding recordings, record crackles, tape hiss, glitches, etc.
